Our students interacted with our proud alumnus, Shri Tulsi Das, IFS, Conservator of Forests, Prayagraj Division. Shri Das completed his Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from ASPEE College of Horticulture and Forestry during 1999–2003.

During the interaction, Shri Das shared his journey from NAU to UAS, Dharwad, where he pursued his Master’s degree through the ICAR JRF. He further received the Commonwealth Scholarship and completed his Master’s degree from Bangor University, UK. After returning to India, he joined the ICAR system as an ARS scientist and later, in 2009, joined the Indian Forest Service (IFS) as part of the 2009 batch in the Uttar Pradesh cadre.

Dr. M. B. Tandel, Dean of the college, felicitated Shri Das with a memento and encouraged students to pursue their dreams through hard work. Other faculty members of the college were also present during the interaction session.

Moreover, we, the College of Forestry, extend our heartfelt congratulations to Shri Tulsi Das, IFS, for receiving the NAU Ratna Award (an award for outstanding NAU alumni) on the occasion of NAU Foundation Day on 1st May.

The College of Forestry (CoF), Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat, organized a farewell function for Dr Prashant Shrivastava on 27 April 2026 in the conference hall of the College of Forestry, Navsari. Dr. Shrivastava served as a mentor, professor, Principal (CoF), and an eminent scientist at the College of Forestry, NAU, Navsari. Later, he served as Principal and Dean of the College of Agricultural Engineering, NAU, Dediyapada, Narmada.

All faculty members and academic and administrative staff participated in the event. Dr. M.B. Tandel, Dean (CoF), welcomed Dr. Shrivastava with a floral bouquet. Dr. D.P. Patel presented the profile of Dr. Shrivastava and highlighted his contributions to strengthening the Forest Resource Management department at the college.

Several faculty members shared their experiences, thoughts, and words of appreciation for Dr. Shrivastava, particularly emphasizing his role in infrastructural development, strengthening of departments and laboratories, and academic and research advancements during his tenure from 2010 to 2023. The memorable events and his effective administrative style during his tenure were also fondly recalled.

The Dean further elaborated on Dr. Shrivastava’s milestones in strengthening and developing the College of Forestry as a teacher, mentor, Head of Department (NRM), Principal (CoF), and Dean. Dr. Tandel also acknowledged Dr. Shrivastava’s contributions to securing plan research projects and achieving accreditation of the College of Forestry by ICAR and ICFRE.

The College of Forestry team felicitated Dr. Shrivastava with a shrifal, a shawl, and a memento. In his address, Dr. Shrivastava shared his extensive journey and experiences, especially as an administrator, and expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation of faculty members and students in strengthening the institution.

A Ph.D. scholar and postgraduate of the College of Forestry, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari — Mr. Akash Dilip Thorat — has secured one of the four posts in the prestigious ICFRE Scientist ‘B’ (Forestry) Examination.

Mr. Akash Dilip Thorat cleared the examination in the forestry discipline, showcasing exceptional academic excellence.

His achievement reflects not only his hard work and dedication but also the university’s strong commitment to academic excellence.

Dhritiman Mukherjee, one of India’s most accomplished Nature and Wildlife Photographers, visited NAU and interacted with students. Through his breathtaking visual stories, he inspired young minds to pursue careers driven by passion, purpose, and a deep commitment to conservation.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor felicitated him with a commemorative plaque, acknowledging his remarkable life journey and his outstanding contribution to wildlife photography and environmental awareness. His visit left a lasting impression, motivating students to strive towards making the planet a better place for all species.
