TECC in India, in collaboration with the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), and DAKSHIN, co-hosted the Taiwan–India Economic Partnership Workshop: Building Resilient and Sustainable Supply Chains.
The workshop brought together representatives from think tanks, industry, and academia from both Taiwan and India for in-depth discussions on semiconductors, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, trusted supply chains, and Indo-Pacific economic resilience.
The opening session featured welcome remarks by Prof. Sachin Kumar Sharma, Director General of RIS, followed by an opening address by Ambassador Mu-Ming Chen, Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in India. Special remarks were also delivered by Dr. Kristy Tsun-Tzu Hsu, Director of the Taiwan ASEAN Studies Centre at CIER, and Mr. Ninad S. Deshpande, Director General of the India-Taipei Association (ITA), Taipei.
In his remarks, Ambassador Chen highlighted that while Taiwan may be small in size, it is a major high-tech economy with key strengths in semiconductors, ICT, and electronics manufacturing. India, with its vast market, strong talent pool, and rapidly expanding manufacturing capacity, is a natural and highly complementary partner for Taiwan.
Participants agreed that amid global supply chain restructuring and growing geopolitical uncertainties, Taiwan and India have great potential to deepen cooperation in technology, investment, industrial clusters, and talent exchange, working together to build a more resilient, trusted, and sustainable Indo-Pacific supply chain.
本處與印度智庫「發展中國家研究資訊系統」（RIS）、中華經濟研究院（CIER）及RIS「全球南方中心」（DAKSHIN）共同舉辦 「台印度經濟夥伴工作坊：打造具韌性與永續性的供應鏈」，邀集台印雙方智庫、產業及學界代表，就半導體、人工智慧、新興科技、可信賴供應鏈及印太經濟韌性等議題深入交流。
開幕式由RIS執行長 Prof. Sachin Kumar Sharma 、本處陳大使牧民、中華經濟研究院台灣東協研究中心主任 徐遵慈及印度台北協會（ITA）會長Mr. Ninad S. Deshpande 發表開幕致詞。
陳大使表示，台灣雖然幅員不大，卻是全球重要高科技經濟體，尤其在半導體、資通訊及電子製造領域具關鍵優勢。印度則擁有龐大市場、人才優勢及快速成長的製造能量，雙方合作潛力深厚。
與會貴賓一致認為，在全球供應鏈重組及地緣經濟變局下，台灣與印度可在科技、投資、產業聚落及人才交流等領域持續深化合作，共同打造更具韌性、可信賴且永續的印太供應鏈。
