Foreign Secretary Shri. Vikram Misri met leaders of Indian-Origin Tamil (IOT) political parties in Sri Lanka.

Discussions focused on issues pertaining to development of the IOT community and various 🇮🇳 initiatives, including those announced during visits of H.E. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April 2025, H.E. Vice President of India in April 2026, and projects under India’s USD 450 mn reconstruction package following , which severely impacted upcountry regions of 🇱🇰.

🇮🇳 Foreign Secretary Shri Vikram Misri met 🇱🇰 Foreign Secretary Ms Aruni Ranaraja during his ongoing visit to Colombo. They discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest, and ways to further deepen close bilateral ties. 🇮🇳 Foreign Secretary reinforced Sri Lanka's Central role in India's Neighbourhood First Policy and in advancing Vision MAHASAGAR.
