Belgian Minister of Defence Theo Francken arrives in Delhi tomorrow alongside Prime Minister Bart De Wever. Hereโ€™s whatโ€™s on the agenda:

The visit will see Minister Francken meet Indiaโ€™s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Adviser Shri Ajit Kumar Doval for talks on a rapidly evolving security landscape and closer military cooperation.

Defence companies from both countries will also come together at the Belgiumโ€“India Defence Industry Event. Hosted by SIDM, the event is organised in close cooperation with the Belgian Security & Defence Industry (BSDI), Flanders Investment & Trade and Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX).

On the programme:

โžก๏ธ A CEO roundtable bringing together 15 companies from each country
โžก๏ธ The exchange of 8 MoUs on defence-industrial cooperation

With high-level talks and concrete industry partnerships on the table, the visit is set to add further momentum to Belgiumโ€“India defence cooperation.

It requires years of training and continuous learning which is why we visited the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service ( ). Indiaโ€™s diplomatic training institute established by the Ministry of External Affairs in 1986. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Ambassador Didier Vanderhasselt and Deputy HoM Steven De Wilde met with Dean Raj Kumar Srivastav to exchange experiences and best practices in diplomatic training.

๐ŸŒ SSIFS trained around 529 diplomats from 116 countries last year, contributing to diplomatic capacity building across borders.
