This happened 12 years back but it’s still fresh in
my mind. I’m currently based in Bangalore. Please

Riyaz stormed into my office room to say “Adi! I’ll
resign – need to go back to India”. I asked him “Sit
down first. Tell me what happened?”
Riyaz: Can’t take this anymore. They’ve started
looking for matches for Afreen. Sitting thousands of
miles away, there isn’t anything that I can do. I want
to go back and do something.

Me: Do something…like?
Riyaz had no answer. He knew he was no match for
the muscle power of Afreen’s family. And at the
same time, he doesn’t want to sit here. After a brief
pause, I said:
“Relax. I’ve thought about your problem sometime
back and have a solution”
My mind raced back in time –
Riyaz and I were batch mates during our college
days and Afreen used to stay with her aunt his
neighbourhood. Afreen belongs to a rich and a
politically connected family in rural UP. Riyaz
belongs to a lower middle class family. They fell in
love and being my friend he used to confide in me.
After studies, Afreen went back to her hometown
while me and Riyaz started working in the same
company (in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea).
My professional growth was faster than that of
Riyaz and soon I became his manager, but that
didn’t affect our friendship. Meanwhile, Afreen and
Riyaz continued their long distance relationship.
Though they didn’t meet in the last couple of years,
they’re still strongly committed to each other.
Afreen knows that the moment she discloses of her
love, she’d lose whatever little freedom she has
now. Her elder sister got married last week and now
she’s sure that it’s her turn. This is the reason for
how Riyaz was reacting.
I told him “listen to my plan. I’ll convert your
employment status from Bachelor to Family. You
told me that Afreen’s sister lives in Hyderabad. Let
her plan to visit them in the next couple of days and
ask her to take all her documents with her. You also
go to Hyderabad with all the documents needed for
her visa, secretly get married, get it registered, get
her to complete the documentation needed and get
all the documents with you. Let Afreen go back to
her hometown after a few days. We will use our
travel agent in India to get the visa for her – she
need not go to the Embassy for the visa. Once the
visa is done, have her visit her aunt in Mumbai.
From there, she’ll say that she’s going back home
and instead she’ll fly here. Once she boards the
flight, you can log into her mail ID and send a mail
to her sister that she’s marrying the love of her life
and that they shouldn’t be looking for her. Once
she’s here, there’s no reason to worry. Her family
doesn’t even know you – so no danger to your
family back home. What do you say?”
After a few moments, Riyaz said “it sounds perfect,
but would it work?”
Me: I can’t think of anything better, can you?
Riyaz: No.
So we decided to go ahead with the plan.
Everything went off as planned and in 3 months
Afreen was here. I stay in a 4 bed room villa given to
senior execs that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean
while Riyaz was staying in a shared accommodation.
He asked me if he can move in with me and I had no
issues. That day, we both went to the airport to
receive her. That’s the first time I saw Afreen –
must be 5’6, slim, fair, pretty and smartly dressed.
She had an elegance and poise in the way she
dressed and the way she carried herself. The
moment they saw each other, they hugged tight
and she was in tears. After a few moments, he
introduced me to her “Baby – this is Aditya, the one
who made it possible”.
She extended her right arm and we shook hands – it
was a firm handshake. “Welcome to your new
home” I said. “I don’t know how to thank you”, she
responded with tears down her cheeks. In an effort
to lighten the situation, I quipped, “Whip up some
tasty desi khaana, heard of your culinary skills and
now dying to taste them”. We all burst out into
laughter and headed home. The new wedded
couple occupied the bedroom in the ground floor
while I stayed put in the bedroom on top floor.
Days passed and Afreen has settled down in the
new place. As there wasn’t any social life in Malabo,
we would spend all our time together. She’d cook
for us and all of us will have a few drinks and eat.
This is pretty much our daily routine.
One Saturday morning, I woke up feeling thirsty and
went down to get some water. I saw that the
kitchen lights were on. As I entered, I saw Afreen
near the fridge drinking water. She looked at me
and said “Water?” I nodded. She took out another
bottle and handed it to me. While giving it, she
accidentally looked down and walked away with a
naughty smile on her lips. I didn’t realize for a
moment what happened but when I looked down I
saw that I was walking with a morning hard-on. I
was like “Sh*t…so embarrassing”
The whole day, I couldn’t make an eye contact with
her – while she was talking normally to me. After
our diner, I excused myself, took a couple of beers
and went up while they both were watching the TV.
I’m usually dressed in a short and a sleeveless tee
at home. I was standing on the terrace looking at
the ocean and sipping beer. It was cloudy with
occasional lightning. I wanted to be there till it
begins to rain.
I guess some 30 minutes passed and I was startled
when a voice interrupted my solitude “its so nice up
here”. I turned around to see Afreen walking with a
beer. I said “hmm…” After a few moments of
awkward silence, I said “listen, I’m very sorry for
today morning. Its embarrassing. “ She smiled, put
her hand on my shoulder, winked at me and said
“you should be sorry if it was down”. We both
laughed out loudly. “Akele, akele…won’t tell me
what happened?” we looked back as Riyaz joined us
saying that. I for a moment didn’t know what to say
and Afreen calmly said “Adi is still embarrassed
about the morning incident and was apologizing. I
told him that he should be sorry if it wasn’t hard
looking at me”. While they both laughed again, I
tried justifying “No… It was just the morning thing…
that’s all”. I was scared about Riyaz
misunderstanding me.
Afreen: What??? It wasn’t because of me? Do I look
so bad??? I’m hurt Adi
She pouted while Riyaz roared out laughing…
Before I could answer, it began raining. “Hurry! Let’s
get in before we get drenched” I said and headed
inside the house with Riyaz following me. Afreen
stayed back and started shouting & playing in rain
like a child. Not only was our neighbor not home but
also given that their house is at a reasonable
distance from ours gave us the required privacy.
Riyaz and I were sipping our drink while watching
her. She was in a knee length skirt and white
sleeveless top – which was completely wet by now.
After a few moments, she came back and pulled
Riyaz and me into the rain. She just wasn’t ready to
take our no for an answer.
We both quickly gulped our drink and joined her. All
of us were drenched completely. We both were in
shorts and were watching her jump and cheer like a
small kid. What didn’t escape our attention was the
fact that the wet dress was hugging Afreen’s curvy
figure. That was the first time I really watched her –
rather stared at her. Slim waist, perky b***s, sexy
legs and an amazing butt…for a moment I asked
myself if I was blind not have seen her so well.
Looking at her, we both were getting turned on –
and our wet shorts weren’t of any help in
concealing our feelings.
Afreen held Riayz’s hand and pulled him closer for a
tango. While doing so, I thought she looked down at
my bulge and gave me a naughty smile…or was it
just my imagination???
