Natural gas is poised to play a pivotal role in India's energy transition and decarbonization journey.
Speaking at the knowledge-sharing session on "Comparative Assessment of Vehicular Fuels in India's Energy Transition: Pathway for Sustainable Energy Adoption in the Mobility Sector", organized by Gas Limited under the aegis of Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board , Shri. Ashu Shinghal, CEO - GAIL Gas Limited, highlighted the growing importance of natural gas as a cleaner and practical fuel solution for the mobility sector.
He emphasized the rapid expansion of CGD infrastructure across the country, reflected in the increasing number of CNG stations and Domestic PNG (DPNG) connections, while maintaining focus on achieving Minimum Work Programme (MWP) targets. He also underscored the importance of APM gas allocation in ensuring the sustained growth of the City Gas Distribution (CGD) sector and providing affordable access to cleaner energy.
Shri. Ashu Shinghal reiterated that the CGD sector will play a significant role in advancing the Government of India's vision for a cleaner, more sustainable, and energy-secure future.
