Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL), is a schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Undertaking under the administrative control of Government of India (Ministry of Railways). It is the most ambitious and biggest ever project in infrastructure sector, set-up to give economy a boost and build high capacity and high speed rail freight corridors along the golden quadrilateral and its diagonals.

The first Phase comprises of construction of two dedicated freight corridors: Western DFC and Eastern DFC. Western DFC spans from Mumbai to Dadri (U.P.) and
Eastern DFC covers from Ludhiana (Punjab) to Sonnagar (Bihar). At present the company has its Corporate Office at Noida Sector 145, Uttar Pradesh and Field Units at Mumbai, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Jaipur, Noida, Ambala, Meerut, Tundla, Allahabad(East), Allahabad(West) & Deen Dayal Upadhaya

On 04.08.2026, a joint inspection of the DFC and Indian Railways connectivity at Kharbao was conducted by Sh. Rajeev Shrivastava, GM/Central Railway; Sh. Hiresh Mina, DRM/Central Railway, Mumbai Division, and other branch officers of Mumbai Division along with DFCCIL officials including Sh. Manish Awasthi, ED/Infra; Sh. Prafull Pandey, ED/Systems; followed by a visit to the Vaitarna–JNPT section.

The inspection focused on reviewing operational interfaces, infrastructure readiness, and coordination aspects to further enhance freight movement efficiency and ensure seamless integration between the two networks.

The visit was also attended by Sh. Vikas Srivastava, GGM/S&T/WC; and Sh. Hari Gopal Tiwari, CGM/Mumbai, along with other senior officials.

Sh. Hitendra Malhotra, DG/Safety, Railway Board, along with Sh. Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director/OP&BD; and Sh. Anurag Yadav, CGM/Noida, and GM/GGM-level officers of DFCCIL conducted a detailed inspection of New Prithala and New Dadri Stations under Noida Unit, covering critical operational and maintenance facilities including New Prithala Yard, Civil & S&T Stores, Station Master Room (SM Room), Relay Room and the section up to DFCCIL Corporate Office Complex.

During the inspection, he reviewed the monsoon preparedness and emergency readiness of various departments, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and operational resilience. The inspection also included a review of OTT packing for cross-level attention, the newly modified applicator for ERC fixing, and the fire alarm system installed at the New Prithala Relay Room.

The inauguration was attended by Sh. R. S. Chaudhary, CGM/Jaipur; Sh. Vineet Tyagi, CGM/Ajmer; along with officers and staff from various departments of the Jaipur Unit.
