Strengthening Global Learning Through India’s TVET Excellence

The International Training Programme on “India’s Vocational Education and Training Landscape: Developmental Learnings” commenced today at NIESBUD, bringing together global participants for a meaningful exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices.

Organised by NIESBUD and sponsored under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, the programme was inaugurated by Dr. Poonam Sinha, Director General, NIESBUD.

The programme hosts 25 participants from Seychelles and Tajikistan, representing government agencies, and focuses on India’s evolving TVET ecosystem, entrepreneurship development, digital skilling, industry partnerships, and innovative training practices.

Through international collaboration and capacity building, NIESBUD continues to advance knowledge exchange and strengthen global partnerships in skill development.

Where global learning meets India's skilling leadership.

Ms. Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), interacted with participants of the International Training Programme on "India's Vocational Education and Training Landscape: Developmental Learnings", organised by NIESBUD under the ITEC Programme of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, and shared India's vision for building an inclusive, industry-responsive, and future-ready skilling ecosystem.

Shri Niranjan Kumar Sudhanshu, Additional Secretary, MSDE; Ms. Hena Usman, Joint Secretary, MSDE; Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Gaba, Executive Member, NCVET; and Dr. Poonam Sinha, Director General, NIESBUD, were also present during the interaction. The programme further featured thematic presentations by DGT, NCVET, and NSDC, followed by a field immersion visit to Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU).

NIESBUD organised a webinar on "Artificial Intelligence for Entrepreneurs: Enhancing Productivity and Growth" for its alumni entrepreneurs from across the country, with the support of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) and MeitY Startup Hub (MSH), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). The webinar witnessed the participation of around 150 NIESBUD alumni entrepreneurs, who practical insights into leveraging Artificial Intelligence to enhancgained e business productivity, innovation and growth.

Ms. Nithya Subramaniam, AI Expert, demonstrated practical AI tools and shared actionable strategies for improving business productivity, customer engagement, marketing and operational efficiency.

स्वच्छता पखवाड़ा 2026 के अंतर्गत राष्ट्रीय उद्यमिता एवं लघु व्यवसाय विकास संस्थान (NIESBUD) में व्यापक स्वच्छता अभियान आयोजित किया गया। अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों एवं संविदा कर्मियों ने मिलकर संस्थान परिसर, मुख्य सड़क एवं मेस के वॉशरूम क्षेत्र की सफाई कर स्वच्छ, हरित एवं स्वस्थ कार्यस्थल के प्रति अपनी सामूहिक प्रतिबद्धता का परिचय दिया।

Dr. Poonam Sinha, Director General, NIESBUD, participated in the panel discussion on “Design and Effectiveness of ITEC Courses” held as part of the “Chintan Shivir: Strengthening ITEC Programme”, organised by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

During her intervention, the Director General shared NIESBUD’s experience of designing and delivering demand-driven international capacity-building programmes and highlighted the importance of practical learning, institutional exposure, interdisciplinary collaboration, and implementable Back Home Action Plans.

The Chintan Shivir brought together senior MEA officials and ITEC partner institutions to discuss ways to further strengthen the ITEC programmes.

NIESBUD trainees across India came together during to participate in a Poster Making Competition on the theme "Shifting Towards Cleaner Energy Resources."

Through their creative expressions, trainees highlighted the importance of clean energy, environmental conservation, and sustainable living, reinforcing the collective responsibility of building a cleaner, greener, and more self-reliant India. The activity forms part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026, being observed from 16–31 July 2026.
