The Anti-Infiltration Special Squad of West Khasi Hills, conducted a verification drive in Shallang, covering factories and Eklavya Model Residential School, Songsak. All verified workers were found to be Indian citizens in possession of valid Voter ID cards.

A Celebration of Freedom, Unity & Patriotism:
West Khasi Hills joined the nation in celebrating the 80th Independence Day of India with patriotic spirit and enthusiasm at Nongstoin and Mawshynrut.
The National Flag was hoisted at New Nongstoin Playground by Hon’ble Minister Shri Timothy D. Shira, while at Mawshynrut, Hon’ble MLA Dr. Celestine Lyngdoh hoisted the Tricolour at Lyngngam Presbyterian Secondary School Playground, Mawthengkut.
The celebrations witnessed impressive parade contingents comprising police personnel, NCC cadets and students, reflecting discipline, unity and national pride. Cultural performances added colour and vibrancy to the occasion, celebrating the rich traditions and talents of the people.
