🇮🇳 Rangoli Competition Celebrating the Spirit of Har Ghar Tiranga 🇮🇳

A Rangoli Competition was organised today at the District Library, Lakhimpur by the District Administration, Lakhimpur, in collaboration with Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM), as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026.

With “Patriotism” as the theme, the competition beautifully reflected the participants’ love for the nation through vibrant colours, creativity and artistic expression. 🌸🇮🇳

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, particularly from members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), showcasing not only their artistic talent but also their active involvement in community and patriotic initiatives.

The Hon’ble Deputy Commissioner, Lakhimpur, graced the occasion with his presence and extended his support and encouragement towards the campaign and the participating SHG members.

The event concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates in the gracious presence of the Hon’ble DDC, Lakhimpur, recognising and appreciating the creativity and enthusiastic participation of the participants.

🌱 PM-AJAY Ceremonial Distribution Programme | Lakhimpur

On 5th August 2026, a PM-AJAY Ceremonial Distribution Programme was organised by ASRLM, Lakhimpur, in collaboration with the Lakhimpur District Administration, with the gracious presence of the Hon’ble MLA, Lakhimpur, Hon’ble MLA, Ronganadi, and Hon’ble MLA, Nowboicha.

As part of the programme, 7 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and 19 SHG members were provided financial assistance through loans of ₹50,000 each, aimed at strengthening their livelihoods, promoting entrepreneurship, and enhancing income-generation opportunities.

The initiative reflects the commitment towards women’s empowerment, financial inclusion, and sustainable livelihood development, enabling SHG members to become more economically independent and self-reliable.

🥛 Strengthening Dairy Livelihoods, Empowering Rural Women! 🌱

Awareness meetings were successfully conducted at Kherkata GP and Madhya Dhakuakhana GP, Lakhimpur District to mobilize women dairy producers from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and connect them with organized market opportunities.

The initiative aims to facilitate the sale of milk through the East Assam Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Limited, enabling SHG members to access a reliable market and receive better returns for their produce.

With the support of the District Administration, two Dairy Producers’ Cooperative Societies will be formed, covering around 100 selected SHG members. The Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department has also extended its wholehearted support to this initiative by providing technical guidance and assistance.

This collaborative effort marks an important step towards promoting dairy farming as a sustainable livelihood, enhancing women’s economic empowerment, and strengthening rural entrepreneurship.

Together, we are building stronger communities, sustainable livelihoods, and a brighter future for our women dairy farmers.

🌾 Empowering Women Farmers through Climate-Smart Agriculture! 🌱

A hands-on field demonstration on the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) was successfully conducted by Krishi Sakhi Barnali Das for SHG members at Jorkhat Village under BMMU Nowboicha, DMMU Lakhimpur.

The practical session focused on introducing women farmers to modern, climate-smart paddy cultivation practices that enhance productivity while promoting sustainable agriculture.

During the demonstration, participants received field-level training on the key principles of SRI, including:
🌱 Single seedling transplantation to minimize root competition.
📏 Wider spacing for healthier crop growth.
💧 Efficient water management techniques to conserve resources.
🌿 Use of organic inputs and mechanical weeding practices to improve soil health and ensure sustainable farming.

Such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening the knowledge and skills of rural women, enabling them to adopt improved agricultural practices for better yields, lower input costs, and enhanced livelihoods.

Legal Awareness for Stronger & Safer Communities ⚖️🌼

A CLF-Level Legal Awareness Camp was successfully organized by Tribani CLF, BMMU Karunabari, under DMMU Lakhimpur, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).

The programme aimed to empower SHG members with knowledge of their legal rights and entitlements through informative sessions on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Women and Child Rights, Domestic Violence, Child Marriage, and the availability of Free Legal Aid Services.

The interactive sessions encouraged participants to understand the importance of legal awareness, safeguarding the rights of women and children, and seeking timely legal support whenever required. Such initiatives play a vital role in building informed, empowered, and resilient communities.
