Intensified IEC Campaign 3.0 launched in Goa
Goa State AIDS Control Society (Goa SACS), in coordination with the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), launched the Intensified IEC Campaign 3.0 on 12th August 2026, coinciding with International Youth Day.
The launch programme was held at Usgao-Ganjem Village Panchayat Hall, Usgao, Goa, in the presence of Chief Guest Hon’ble Health Minister Shri Vishwajit P. Rane, and Guest of Honour Shri Yetindra Maralkar, IAS, Secretary, Health.
Dr. Jasmine Brenda Pinto, Project Director, Goa SACS, delivered the formal welcome, Dr. Tanvi Pednekar, Psychiatrist, North District Hospital (Asilo), Mapusa delivered the keynote address, while Shri Umakant Sawant, JD (IEC), Goa SACS, delivered the vote of thanks.
The winners of the Poster Competition and Street Play Competition were felicitated and awarded prizes by the Hon’ble Health Minister. An IEC Van was also launched to carry HIV/AIDS and STI awareness messages across Goa during the campaign.
The two-month campaign will focus on promoting awareness about HIV transmission and prevention, HIV and STI services, the HIV and AIDS (Prevention & Control) Act, 2017, the National AIDS Toll-Free Helpline 1097, and the importance of addressing stigma and discrimination.
