World TB Day was commemorated in Goa with the state launch of the 100 Days TB Elimination Campaign.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Health Secretary/Mission Director NHM Shri Yatindra Maralkar.

The Deputy Director of DHS Goa, Shaheen Sayyad, delivered the welcome address and opening remarks. The State TB Officer presented an overview of the current TB statistics in Goa, highlighting ongoing efforts and progress. The Health Secretary appreciated the state’s commitment towards TB elimination and emphasized the need for active participation from all stakeholders during the 100-day campaign.

Mr. Kiran Dessai from Deccan LMT attended as the Guest of Honour and emphasized the importance of Janabhagidari (people’s participation) in achieving TB elimination.

An IEC audio-visual mobile van was launched to strengthen awareness and outreach activities.
Adding to the diagnostic capacity, Lupin Human Welfare Foundation, as a Nikshay Mitra under PMTBMBA, supported the program by providing a NAAT machine.

Mr. Jitendra Rane from Lupin Human welfare foundation was felicitated as Nikshay Mitra by Goa state Health Secretary.

Multigrain food packets were given to TB patients by the Nikshay Mitra Rise Against Hunger India.

Dr. Kedar Raikar delivered the vote of thanks. The program was held at the Conference Hall of Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Corlim.

On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, Hon’ble Governor of Goa, Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, distributed nutritious food baskets to TB patients as Nikshay Mitra under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (PMTBMBA).

This initiative reflects a strong commitment towards ensuring nutritional support and holistic care for individuals undergoing TB treatment, contributing to improved recovery outcomes and a TB Mukt Bharat.
