Operation Dawn 2.0: Arrest of Drug Peddlers by ADS – Cases Registered at Pasighat PS.
Under the ongoing Operation Dawn 2.0, East Siang Police successfully apprehended four individuals in operation conducted under Pasighat Police Station recovering suspected he**in at 2-Mile Area.
On 19th August 2026, acting on credible sources ,information received regarding illegal trafficking of narcotic substances, a police team led by DySP(HQ) shri Toni Tatak and SDPO Pasighat Shri Dujom Bagra, including SI K. Tangha, L/HC B Basar, L/Ct O Dameng, Ct R Songthing, Ct , ct K Perme, Ct K Mili, Ct P Chejong, Ct K Potom, Ct A Miyu, and Ct C Ejing, conducted a discreet operation based on intelligence collected by Police. During the Operation , police apprehended one drug/he**in broker namely Mr Otem Padung from his residence located at Forest Colony, Pasighat. Interrogation of Otem Padung led to the apprehension Mr. Okong Megu from his residence located at Gumin Nagar who had supplied the contraband substances. On interrogation Mr. Okong Megu disclosed that he use to receive he**in from one lady namely Smty Ogul Tagi and delivers it to substance abuser.Subsequently Smti Ogul Tagi was apprehended from Gumin Nagar and her partner in crime Co- accussedSmty Peeman Manham Taloh was apprehended from 2-Mile Pasighat. Entire search and seizure was done in presence of Executive Magistrate, Pasighat.
During the personal search of the accused persons and house search of Smty Peeman Manham Taloh, the following items were recovered by Police:
1. 3(three) To***co Container and 2(two) vials containing Suspected he**in weighing 8.26 gm.
2. Brass metal Ho**ah
3. Plastic Ho**ah
4. 02 Nos syringe
The seized contraband was properly weighed, packed, sealed, and documented in accordance with legal provisions. The entire operation was videographed to ensure transparency
Accordingly:
PSGT/PS/C/No. 88/26 u/s 21(b)/29/27A of NDPS Act have been registered, and further investigation is underway.Police remands against
alll the four arrested alleged accused persons were secured and further on expiry have been remanded to judicial custody by Hnble Sessions Court,Pasighat.
Superintendent of Police, East Siang, Shri Pankaj Lamba, IPS, commended the efforts of the entire team and ADS, reiterating the district police’s unwavering commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drug-related offences. He further urged the public to remain vigilant and report any illicit activities, emphasizing that community cooperation is vital in achieving a drug-free East Siang.
