As per Ministery of HRD, Government of India, Apex Professional University is empowered to award Degrees as specified in section 22 of UGC Act, 1956. The University is also empowered to grant the Diplomas, Certificates, Pre University Certificates (Secondary and Senior Secondary Level) and other academic distinctions in conformity with the provisions of the Apex Professional University Act (No. 7 of 2013), Statutes and Regulations notified by Government of Arunachal Pradesh in the Official Gazette
The University has been granted membership of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. The AIU membership is beneficial for establishing the equivalence of certification with other member universities of AIU in India and abroad. The University has also obtained No Objection Letter from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi for conducting Technical and Management Programme and India Council Agriculture Research (ICAR), New Delhi for conducting Agriculture Programmes. Apex Professional University (APU) is duly approved by Bar Council of India (BCI) New Delhi for Legal Education Programme and by Council of Architecture (CoA), New Delhi for Architecture Education. Apart from this, approval of National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) and Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi for Teacher Education Programme is under process.
