On the occasion of World Water Day 2026, SVEEP activities were successfully conducted at various PWSS under Bajali District.
The programme highlighted the theme “Jan Bhagidari, Matdata Shakti”, emphasizing community participation and voter awareness. A pledge was also taken by the participants in the presence of Marry Kalita, Assistant Commissioner, Bajali, and Drisha Deori, EO, Patacharkuchi Municipal Board. The event witnessed the active participation of BLOs, AWC workers, ASHA workers, IEC Coordinator, Khalasi, Swajalmitra, and community members, reflecting a strong commitment towards promoting voter awareness and strengthening democratic participation at the grassroots level.

Orientation on Jal Vidya in connection with "Jal Mahotsav Campaign 2026” has conducted at North Kamrup College, Baghmara under Bajali, highlighting the water quality, importance of water conservation and safe drinking water practices.

During the programme, students were sensitized about the need for sustainable water use and the protection of water sources etc.The campaign aimed to encourage young minds to become responsible citizens and active participants in ensuring safe and sustainable water for all.

“A District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) meeting was held today on 0y/09/2025 at the Conference Hall, DC Office, Bajali, in the presence of the District Commissioner, ADC (JJM), BDOs, officials from PHED and other line departments. The meeting focused on reviewing the status and progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) (SBMG).”

"Jal Baithaks were held in different Gram Panchayats under Bajali district to discuss the functionality of PWSS, roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, O&M policy, and tariff collection for ensuring the sustainability of the schemes. The meetings were attended by CEO, Zilla Parishad, Bajali; ADC (JJM); BDO; GP Presidents; EE and AEE (PHE); officials from PHED and P&RD; WUC members; ASHA workers and beneficiaries."

The main focuss of the Baithak is “Strengthening collective responsibility for sustainable and safe water supply."

As part of summer internship programme, students of NH College, Patacharkuchi visited the District-Level Laboratory under the Public Health Engineering Department, Bajali.

The visit provided the students with a valuable hands-on learning experience and deeper insights into water quality testing, sanitation standards, and laboratory procedures.
