ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੇਟ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਪਾਰੋਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ, ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਵਾਲਾ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾਫਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਤੇ ਦੋ ਨਾਬਾਲਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ 1.035 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਹੈਰੋਇਨ, 5 ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ, 2 ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ ਅਤੇ 5 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਡਰੱਗ ਮਨੀ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ, ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੇਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਹੈਂਡਲਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਵੰਡ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਫਗਾਨ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਹੈ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਥਾਣਾ ਕੈਂਟ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਐਫ.ਆਈ.ਆਰ. ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਅਗਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ, ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਰ ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਰਾਮਦਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਅਗਲੇਰੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ, ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ, ਹਵਾਲਾ ਕਾਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗਠਿਤ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜ਼ੀਰੋ-ਸਹਿਣਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਨੀਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ।

Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused, in connivance with foreign-based associates, were allegedly procuring consignments of illegal arms and narcotics through social media platforms and distributing them on the directions of their overseas handlers. One of the arrested accused is an Afghan national.
FIR has been registered at PS Cantonment, . Further investigation is underway to establish backward and forward linkages, identify other associates involved in the network, and ascertain further recoveries.
Punjab Police remains firmly committed to a zero-tolerance policy against drugs, illegal arms, hawala operations, and organised crime.
