Today, AISF and other Left and progressive student organisations took to the streets to protest against the repeated failures of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the injustice being done to lakhs of students across the country.
The decision to re-conduct the UGC-NET examinations in English, Commerce, and Sociology once again exposes the incompetence and unaccountability of the NTA. Students cannot be made to suffer repeatedly for the mistakes of an agency entrusted with conducting national examinations.
We strongly condemn the brutal use of force, manhandling, detention, and suppression of democratic dissent against students who were peacefully raising their voices for justice. A democratic government must listen to students, not silence them.
AISF demands:
• A judicial inquiry into the repeated failures and irregularities in NTA-conducted examinations.
• Accountability for those responsible for paper leaks and examination mismanagement.
• Abolition of the NTA in its present form.
• Creation of a permanent statutory examination authority under parliamentary oversight.
• Protection of students' democratic right to protest.
The future of India's youth cannot be sacrificed due to corruption, negligence, and administrative failure. We will continue our struggle until a fair, transparent, and accountable examination system is ensured.
NTA Hatao, Students Bachao!
Education is a Right, Not a Gamble!
