ANGANA was registered in 2007 under the society Registration Act 21, 1960, as the handlooms and handicrafts enterprise and outlet, to promote livelihood security among the rural underprivileged women of Bihar. The beginning was made way back in 2002, with the initiatives of leading developmental NGO of Bihar, NIDAN, to usher socio-economic empowerment among the marginalized women through skill d
evelopment and marketing linkages. ANGANA has synergized the creative energy of the local artisans by providing backward linkage, Quality and Design Up gradation, Marketing support & Linkages and Skill up gradation. ANGANA has not only integrated the supply chain management but also led to sustained and efficient management of design, production and marketing of the rural products. ANGANA is involved in providing a developmental platform to more than 5000 women artisans in the Handloom and the Handicraft Sector of Bihar. Directly, ANGANA has over 300 artisans organized in SHGs and Co-operatives in 25 villages across 6 districts of Bihar. We have transformed the livelihoods scenario of Bihar, offering a fresh strategy to fight the poverty through skill development and sustainable income generation. The product range of ANGANA includes the handloom and handicrafts items we Have Developed Mahubani/ Mithila paintings, Appliqué, Sujani, embroidery, jute products, file folders and folder bags. Our valued customers include several government agencies and NGOs including UNICEF, Save the Children, Plan, WDC, BRLP, DC (Handicrafts), Pathfinder and Bihar Education Project.
