In pursuance of meeting conducted on District Water & Sanitation Mission Committee to discuss implementation, monitoring,management and sustainability of Jal Jeewan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission in the district held at Gyalshing under the chairmanship District Collector on 27/05/2026, Block Administrative Centre, Yuksam has conducted a block level review meeting to assess the progress and implementation of various water supply and sanitation initiatives within the block.

The meeting was chaired by BDO, Yuksam Shri San Man Limboo. The review focused on the status of ongoing projects, achievements, challenges and future action plans aimed at strengthening water and sanitation services in the area.

The meeting was attended by Hon’ble Panchayat Members, Assistant Director (PRI), Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineers, APO, VAA, Jr. VAAs, PDAs, GRSs and other concerned officials.

During the meeting, Shri Mobin Chettri, Junior Engineer, delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation highlighting the DWSM report, including progress updates, implementation status and key achievements under various schemes. Discussions were also held on improving service delivery, ensuring effective monitoring and addressing existing challenges.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all stakeholders to work in coordination for the successful implementation of water and sanitation programmes and to ensure sustainable development across the block.

An official visit-cum-sensitization programme was successfully conducted today at 08 Thingling GPU by the team from BAC Yuksam under the leadership of BDO Yuksam, Shri San Man Limboo. The programme was organized with the objective of strengthening coordination with GPU functionaries and sensitizing officials and staff on various developmental activities, government schemes and administrative responsibilities.

The visiting delegation comprised Assistant Director (PRI) Shri G.R Chettri, APO Shri Ramesh Sharma, Social Welfare Inspector Shri Milan Limboo, Panchayat Inspector Shri Deependra Gurung, Junior Engineers Shri Mobin Chettri and Shri Bijay Rai.

The programme commenced with the traditional offering of khadas by Hon’ble ward Panchayat Miss Pema Yangkit Lepcha and Assistant Director (PRI) Shri R.C Rai, followed by a welcome address delivered by Hon’ble Panchayat Vice-President Shri Kumar Basnett.

During the session, VGRA Miss Rinchen Ongmu Lepcha presented the profile and functioning of the GPU.
A comprehensive presentation on VB-G RAM-G was delivered by APO Shri Ramesh Sharma.

Social Welfare Inspector Shri Milan Limboo highlighted various Central and State Government welfare schemes and their effective implementation at the grassroots level. Panchayat Inspector Shri Deependra Gurung elaborated on SBM-G and Solid Waste Management Rules 2026.
A brief address on engineering works was done by Junior Engineer Shri Mobin Chettri and Shri Bijay Rai.

An important interactive and summarisation session was conducted by BDO Shri San Man Limboo, wherein key administrative issues such as leave rules, NCORD initiatives, Connect to CM, pre-monsoon preparedness, punctuality, discipline and the responsibilities of government servants towards efficient public service delivery were discussed in detail.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Hon’ble ward Panchayat Shri Sandeep Limboo who expressed gratitude to the visiting officials and appreciated the initiative for enhancing awareness, coordination and effective governance at the grassroots level.

A cleanliness drive was conducted by BAC & SDM Yuksam in preparation for the upcoming visit of the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim to Yuksam scheduled for tomorrow and the following day.

The cleanliness initiative was carried out to ensure proper sanitation, cleanliness and maintenance of public places and surrounding areas ahead of the official visit. Officials and staff of BAC & SDM Yuksam actively participated in the drive and extended their support towards making the programme successful.

The administration has appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness and cooperate during the visit programme.

A coordination meeting was conducted by the BDO Yuksam Shri San Man Limboo with all the line departments under Yuksam block at BAC office regarding the upcoming visit of the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim to Yuksam.

The meeting was attended by officials from various departments including the Director of PPHF, ADO from the Agriculture Department, Horticulture In-charge, TO and staff from the Tourism Department, Assistant Livestock Inspector from the Animal Husbandry Department, APO of VB-G RAM-G, Social Welfare Inspector from the WCSC&D Welfare Department, Panchayat Inspectors, Junior Engineer and RRC In-charge.

During the meeting, the BDO briefed all concerned departments on the importance of the visit and directed the officials to ensure proper coordination and preparedness. Various matters related to arrangements, departmental responsibilities, logistics, cleanliness, hospitality and other necessary preparations for the successful visit of the Hon’ble Governor were discussed in detail.

All departments assured their full cooperation and coordination for the smooth and successful conduct of the visit.

The visiting delegation comprised Assistant Engineer Shri Lakpa Dorjee Bhutia, APO Shri Ramesh Sharma, Social Welfare Inspector Shri Milan Limboo, Panchayat Inspector cm SBM-G coordinator Shri Sonam Dorjee Bhutia, Junior Engineer Shri Nabin Pradhan, BPM SRLM, APM SRLM and other officials from line department.

The programme commenced with the traditional offering of bouquet by Hon’ble Panchayat Vice-President Smt. Sonam Zangmu Lepcha, followed by a welcome address delivered by PDA Shri Birkha Rai.

Field Visit to Newly Established Plastic Waste Management Unit at 10 Melli Aching GPU

Dated: 11/05/2026.
The newly established Plastic Waste Management Unit (PWMU) at 10 Melli Aching GPU was field visited by the BDO, Yuksam, Shri San Man Limboo, along with his team and line departmental officials.

During the visit, the team inspected the functioning and infrastructure of the unit and reviewed the ongoing initiatives for effective plastic waste management within the GPU. The BDO interacted with the concerned officials and staff and emphasized the importance of proper waste segregation, recycling and community participation in maintaining a clean and sustainable environment.

The visit aimed to assess the operational preparedness of the unit and encourage coordinated efforts towards environmental conservation and solid waste management at the grassroots level. The establishment of the PWMU is expected to play a significant role in promoting cleanliness and reducing plastic pollution in the area.

The officials also encouraged local stakeholders and community members to actively support the initiative for the successful implementation of sustainable waste management practices.

BAC Yuksam, in collaboration with all five GPUs, successfully organised a Farewell-cum-Block Level Picnic Programme at Shramdhan Park, Rimbi. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from officials, Panchayat representatives and members of the general public.

The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA of 01 Yuksam–Tashiding Constituency, Shri Tshering T. Bhutia, as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by several distinguished dignitaries.

The Guests of Honour included Hon’ble Zilla Adakshya Shri D. S. Limboo, Hon’ble Advisor (SMPB) Shri N. B. Limboo, Additional District Collector (Dev.) Shri Surat Gurung, OSD to 01 Yuksam–Tashiding Constituency Shri Basant Tamang, SDM Yuksam Shri Jesse Targain, RO-cum-Deputy Director Shri Amrit Raj Rai, Hon’ble Zilla Panchayat Miss Sabitri Rai, along with Panchayat Presidents and members.

Also present were Assistant Engineers Shri Pema Wangchuk Bhutia and Shri Lakpa Dorjee Bhutia, Assistant Director (PRI) Shri R. C. Rai, Assistant Director (PRI) Shri I. B. Bhutia (Former AD), Miss Sumnima Kirati Rai (Former AE In-charge), Shri H.B Chettri (Former BDO Driver) and Miss Manita Gurung (Former OA). Their dedicated services and valuable contributions were acknowledged with deep appreciation and gratitude.

The programme was conducted in a warm and cordial atmosphere, fostering a sense of unity, appreciation and camaraderie among all participants. The block-level picnic further strengthened bonds among officials, Panchayat representatives and the local community.
