The SFI PU unit called for a flash protest after spotting Shailendra Singh in his cabin. He is an accused sexual harasser whose case has been reopened. In response, SFI protesters entered the Earth Science building and blocked all exits, ensuring he could not leave unnoticed.
For nearly an hour, students searched the premises. During this time, the department attempted to shield him, claiming that he had not come to the department at all. However, our comrades eventually found him hiding beneath a water tank. Once exposed, he had no option but to flee the department under mounting pressure, as students raised slogans against him.
After he left out of guilt and shame, students burned his effigy outside the building, sending a strong message that institutional protection of perpetrators will not go unchallenged. The unity shown by students under. SFI broke through the walls built by the Sanghi administration to shield perpetrators, asserting that such protection will no longer be tolerated.
Com. Sreshta addressed the gathering, condemning the continued shielding of Shailendra Singh by the Sanghi administration and calling for accountability, justice, and a campus free from sexual harassment.
Following the protest, the Head of the Department assured the students that Shailendra Singh would not be allowed to enter the campus until the investigation is properly completed.

• The accused, Shailendra Singh, will not be reinstated in the department.
• An ICC Board meeting will be convened on 26th March.

SFI Pondicherry University Unit staged a protest against the reinstatement of Shailendra Singh on duty. The protestors blocked the Registrar at Pondicherry University, and a meeting with the ICC representatives is currently ongoing. The protest will continue until a proper reinvestigation of the appeal is initiated and Shailendra Singh is detained from the university.

SFI Pondicherry University Condemns Attack on Andhra University Students

SFI Pondicherry University strongly condemns the brutal attack carried out by RSS–ABVP forces on the students of Andhra University. This incident reflects a continuing attempt to infiltrate campuses and impose a communal and sectarian agenda, undermining the democratic and secular character of educational institutions.For years, RSS–ABVP has been engaged in saffronisation, using intimidation and violence to silence dissent and weaken the academic environment necessary for critical thinking and free inquiry.
SFI reaffirms its commitment to defend campuses as spaces of democracy, secularism, and social justice. We stand in firm solidarity with the students of Andhra University and strongly condemn this act of violence. The student community will continue to resist all efforts to communalise and suppress the democratic spirit of educational institutions.
