Gen. NSUI Pondicherry University was officially reconstituted in 2017.

Secretary: Majida (+91 97783 42729)
Programme coordinator: Mohammad Sahal (+91 80789 85969) The National Students Union of India is the student wing of the Indian National Congress, established on 9 April 1971. The organization was founded by India's first and only woman Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi to empower the student community to create responsible citizens and leaders. The organization

was formed after merging Kerala Students Union and West Bengal State Chhatra Parishad to form a National Students' Organisation. The open membership process allows young leaders, without a political background, to emerge from the grass root. The unit was formed by the will and determination of a small group of students (lesser than10) under the able leadership of Shri. Joel George, who (all) believed in the ideology of Congress, who laid the foundation for what we are today. Since then it has contested in elections and held representation in the Students Council. NSUI PU has been an integral part of the Pondicherry University campus life involving in everyday affairs. NSUI had represented students for various issues on academics as well of national interest and have been conducting discussion and protest for ensuring justice.

It's deeply disappointing that the Amudham Mess management has gone back on their word—after promising compensation for the Hostel Day dinner during today’s meal, they have now denied it.
NSUI PU strongly opposes this deceptive act and will continue protesting until justice is served.
Shame on the Amudham Mess management for this betrayal.
We request everyone to come forward for this collective effort and ensure the justice is served✊🏾

NSUI PU firmly stands with the students and shares happiness over this well-earned success of students unity.
This victory is a reminder that when students unite, they are never powerless.
As a result of student’s unity, the same menu will be served again during Tuesday’s dinner as a form of compensation✊🏾💙
The irresponsible act of serving spoiled and insufficient food during the Hostel Day celebration at Amudham Mess is a serious failure on the part of the management.
The unity and determination of students forced the management to admit its mistake and take responsibilty.

It is deeply disappointing that the management of Amudham Mess served spoiled and insufficient food to students during the Hostel Day celebration. NSUI PU stands in full support of the students who are raising their voices and standing up for their rights regarding mess standards and food quality.

NSUI demands accountability and insists that proper compensation be provided by serving the same promised menu on another day.

We are glad to inform that, following the students’ united stand and NSUI’s support, the mess authorities have acknowledged their mistake and agreed to serve the same menu again on Tuesday as compensation.

The librarian assured us that these issues would be addressed promptly. NSUI PU will try its best to ensure a conducive study environment for all students.
