District Police Poonch Marks World Environment Day with District-Wide Plantation Drive

On the occasion of World Environment Day, District Police Poonch organized plantation drives across all police establishments and units of the district as part of its commitment towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The main plantation programme was conducted at the District Police Lines (DPL) Poonch, where SSP Poonch Sh. Shafket Hussain JKPS, along with other senior police officers, participated in the plantation drive and planted saplings to promote environmental sustainability and ecological balance.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from police officers and personnel, who planted a large number of saplings within the premises of police stations, police posts, offices, residential lines, and other police establishments across the district. The initiative was aimed at promoting environmental awareness, enhancing green cover, and encouraging collective responsibility towards the protection and preservation of nature.
Speaking on the occasion, officers highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and emphasized that tree plantation is a vital step towards combating climate change, improving air quality, conserving biodiversity, and ensuring a healthier future for coming generations.
District Police Poonch reiterated its commitment towards supporting environmental protection initiatives and appealed to the general public to actively participate in plantation drives and adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
The plantation drives were conducted successfully across all police units of the district, reflecting the collective resolve of District Police Poonch towards building a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable environment.
