CRPF 38 BN Organizes Civil Society Meeting in Poonch

Poonch 12 Nov. : The 38th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a Civil Society Meeting in Poonch to discuss various local and national issues. The meeting was held under the supervision of Hazari Lal, Second-in-Command, and Mohan Lal Sharma, Additional SP Poonch.

Prominent members of civil society who attended the meeting included Jahangir Hussain Mir (Ex-MLC), Adv. Mohd Zaman, Taj Mir, Surjan Singh, Adv. Sanjeev Sharma, Sudarshan Sharma (Retd. CEO), Hafiz Shahzad Anwari (Chairman HAAKIIA), Syed Imran Shah, Zahid Ali, and Dr. Sarfraz Mir (Chairman SSEM SOCH INDIA), among others.

During the session, participants expressed deep sorrow and strongly condemned the tragic blast in Delhi on November 10, which claimed the lives of several innocent civilians. Members of the Civil Society of Poonch unanimously denounced this act of violence and extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

Civil society members reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace, harmony, and brotherhood in the region. They emphasized that Poonch stands as a symbol of Hindu-Muslim-Sikh unity and assured that every effort will be made to mainatain communal harmony in the region.

Heartfelt Felicitations to Dr. Rupambir Singh

With deep joy and immense pride, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to Dr. Jasbir Singh, Worthy Principal, Government Degree College Poonch, and Ms. Baljeet Kour, esteemed Lecturer in Zoology, on the extraordinary accomplishment of their brilliant son, Dr. Rupambir Singh.

He has not only made Poonch proud and brought honour to Jammu & Kashmir, but has also illuminated the name of India with his exceptional success, dedication, and academic excellence.

A true son of the soil, Dr. Rupambir Singh, the worthy son of Dr. Jasbir Singh, has achieved a rare distinction by winning five prestigious Gold Medals at the 19th Special Convocation of the University of Jammu, held on 13th November 2025.

His honours include:
1️⃣ Dr. Rukmani Devi Mirpuri Gold Medal
2️⃣ Dr. Nanak Chand Memorial Gold Medal
3️⃣ Dr. J.R. Sethi Memorial Gold Medal
4️⃣ Dr. Nikhil Baru Memorial Gold Medal
5️⃣ Recognition as the University Topper of 2023

These medals were graciously conferred by the Honourable Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, and the Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Omar Abdullah Ji.

It was a moment of golden pride and heartfelt emotion when his parents stood on the same stage, witnessing their son being honoured by such eminent dignitaries. For any parent, this is life’s most beautiful reward — when years of silent sacrifice, guidance, and love blossom into their child’s radiant success.

The journey of Dr. Rupambir Singh is not merely a tale of academic brilliance; it is a story of values, perseverance, and parental devotion. It reflects the character, dedication, and commitment of his parents — especially Dr. Jasbir Singh Sir, whose selfless service as an educator has shaped countless students, myself included.

As his student, I feel deeply honoured and grateful. His teaching, discipline, and humility have inspired us all — and today, that inspiration finds its brightest reflection in the remarkable success of his own son.

This triumph is not just a personal celebration, but a moment of glory for the entire District of Poonch, for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, and indeed for the nation.
