Pan India Initiative: Anti-Child Labour Drive in Khrew Area of Pampore and Patal bagh

As part of the Pan India initiative to eradicate child and adolescent labour, DCPU Pulwama successfully conducted an anti-child labour drive in the Khrew area of Pampore. The drive was undertaken in collaboration with other stakeholders, including the District Child Protection Unit, CWC, CHL, AHTU and local authorities.
Impact:
A strong message against child labour and exploitation was disseminated through the anti-child labour drive in Khrew area of Pampore. The drive also raised awareness among employers, parents, and children about the importance of education and the risks associated with child labour.

District Child Protection Unit Pulwama Conducts Anti-Child Labour Drive at Pampore Pulwama, June 24, 2025 - In alignment with the nationwide endeavour to rescue and rehabilitate child labourers, the District Child Protection Unit Pulwama has initiated a comprehensive anti-child labour drive throughout the district. The drive is designed to identify and rescue children engaged in labour and provide them with necessary support and rehabilitation services. The DCPU team collaborated with local authorities and stakeholders to visit various locations, engaging with employers, parents, and children to raise awareness about the issue of child labour. We are committed to ensuring that every child in Pulwama district is protected from exploitation and has access to education and a safe childhood. Our anti-child labour drive is a critical step towards achieving this goal. The DCPU Pulwama will continue to work in collaboration with local authorities, NGOs, and stakeholders to monitor and prevent child labour in the district. The unit will also provide ongoing support and rehabilitation services to children rescued during the drive.

Pulwama 13 Dec 2024:Two-day sports activities event for children residing in Child Care Institutions across Pulwama district at Iqbal ground Tanchibagh, Pampore. The event Was organized by District Child Protection Unit under Mission Vatsalya Pulwama in collaboration with the Zonal Physical Education Department Pampore.

The event was today concluded by Naib Tehsildar Pampore, Iftikhar Ahmad, in presence of District Social Welfare Officer Pulwama( Azhar Amin), Chairperson Child Welfare Committee Pulwama, Zonal Sports Officer Pampore, Irshad Ahmad (TSWO)Pampore, Protection Officers of DCPU Pulwama (Tawseef Ahmad and Zuhaib Hassan) Irshad Ah wani( SW), Mudasir Manzoor(Accountant)Imtiyaz Ahmad (Counselor( and Several other officials from different departments and representatives of Child Care Instituions were also present on the said event.
