Besides augmenting core competence, C-MET envisions attainment o

f self-sufficiency in the sphere of Electronic materials, components and devices to cater to Indiaโ€™s strategic and industrial applications, exploiting indigenous resources of raw materials. t has three laboratories located in Pune, Hyderabad and Thrissur.

C-MET welcomes Shri Navneet Kumar, ICAS & OSD to Hon'ble Union Minister, MeitY, Government of India, at the Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET), Pune today.

Shri Navneet Kumar reviewed the ongoing research activities and technology development initiatives across all three C-MET laboratories โ€” Pune, Hyderabad, and Thrissur.

A key highlight was the presentation of C-MET's remarkable success stories โ€” translating cutting-edge research into real-world spin-off technologies โ€” spanning e-waste valorisation, breast cancer detection technologies, and advanced materials for Quantum Technologies.

Shri Navneet Kumar also visited the R&D facilities of the Pune Laboratory, gaining first-hand insight into the progress of indigenous technology development mission-mode projects currently underway at C-MET, aligned to various National Missions including the National Quantum Mission (NQM), National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM), and India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

We are delighted to share that Dr. R. Ratheesh, Director General, C-MET (Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology), was invited to deliver a lecture on "Materials for Energy Transition" at the prestigious German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Cologne, Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช on June 11, 2026.
The event was jointly organized by the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) and the University of Cologne โ€” a testament to the growing recognition of Indian expertise in advanced materials science on the global stage. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช

๐ŸŒ• A Special Highlight โ€” The LUNA Moon Facility!
As part of the visit, Dr. Ratheesh also had the rare opportunity to tour the LUNA Moon Facility at the German Aerospace Centre โ€” the only facility of its kind in the world. This extraordinary setup replicates realistic lunar conditions, enabling scientists and engineers to prepare for human and robotic missions to the Moon.
