Monthly Inspiring Mentor Journey Talks@ Vidya Valley School

Guest Speaker and Alumni Mentor :
Arush Patel Inspires Our Class 8 Students

On 13th August, our Class 8 students had the privilege of hearing from Arush, an alumnus who has journeyed from being an uncertain Class 8 student to now pursuing a Computer Science course in Scotland.

Arush shared his transformative experience with the Rotary Student Exchange Program, emphasizing how it helped him gain invaluable knowledge and confidence. He urged our students to stay open to such opportunities, as they can be life-changing.

In addition, Arush provided insights on how to apply for international student programs, encouraging our young learners to explore the world beyond their classrooms.

A big thank you to Arush for taking the time to inspire the next generation of global citizens!

A team from Application Ally visited Vidya Valley to inspire our Class 9 students with insights into the world of liberal arts and the exciting opportunities it offers.

Ira, Suhani, Surabhi, Riya, and Tanvi shared their journey in liberal arts, emphasizing the importance of:

Freedom of Speech
Mentorship
Questioning the Status Quo
Pursuing Diverse Interests
Enhancing Transferable Skills
Their stories encouraged our students to explore a variety of paths, develop critical thinking, and embrace the possibilities that liberal arts provide.

Cubes in space contest …the STEM Program for student 11 to 18 years of Age Providing Two Suborbital Flight Opportunities on NASA Missions. Students from all over the world send experiments in tiny cubes of 4 cm3 which provides students access to space to design and test experiments on NASA missions.

We are happy that 24 experiments from VIDYA VALLEY School Pune got selected under the mentorship of 4 teachers. 5 experiments from teacher Megha Gupta, 5 experiments under the mentorship of teacher Chaitali Shah, 6 under the mentorship of Teacher Jaya ma'am and 8 under the mentorship of Teacher Joyeeta Adhikari. The experiments will be launched from NaSA Wallops Flight Facility , Virginia , USA and from NASA Columbia Scientific Ballon Facility, New Mexico.
This mission in Vidya Valley School has been possible under the leadership of director Ipsita Rodricks, Headmistress Nilima Sawant, Teacher Vandana Suryawanshi, Trustee PK Sengupta and Principal Nalini Sengupta.

SAYURI GHORPADE of class 7th becomes the Cadet National champion in Taekwondo in the Height category of 172cms to 176cms. The tournament was held at Vishakapatnam, Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium from 1st to 4th August 2024.

Matches
She got BYE in her first round.

In her second round which was her semifinal match she took on Chandigarh’s opponent leading by
8-4 in round 1
9-5 in round 2

In the finals she had Delhi to face against. The match was intense between the two. The score were tie for both rounds but Sayuri was given Techical advance points for scoring most scores on opponents head.

Round 1
17-17 all

Round 2
18-18 all

Sayuri’s becomes the National Gold medalist in her first ever national Debut match.

She creates a record for Vidya valley school for being the youngest Federation National Gold medalist in Taekwondo.

On the Other hand ANSH SRINIVASAN of class 9 did his best by winning round one against Uttarakhand
And losing to Delhi in round 2 in the Male cadet under 180cms division.

Kudos to Arvind Sir for being such an amazing Mentor and Coach and the sports teachers .
