Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) was established as a Scientific Society under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. The organization has been forging ahead with the vision to emerge as th

e premier R&D for the design, development and deployment of world class electronics and IT solutions for economic and human advancement at which the nation is looking upon to take it through the transformation. C-DAC has a growing nation-wide presence of around 3000 employees across India with 12 centers in the cities of Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mohali, Mumbai, Noida, Patna, Pune, Silchar and Thiruvananthapuram. Originally established to carry out research and to develop High Performance Computers, the R&D of C-DAC has expanded to various other areas such as grid and cloud computing, multilingual computing, heritage computing, professional electronics including VLSI and embedded systems, cyber security and cyber forensics, health informatics, software technologies and education related to these technologies. With its first HPC mission in 1988 and subsequent delivery of PARAM series of supercomputers, C-DAC has been the forerunner of the ICT revolution in India. With a wide spectrum of expertise and core competencies in various ICT domains, many national level initiatives are rolled out such as National Supercomputing Mission, Microprocessor Development Programme, Mission for Developing Digitally Inclusive and Smart Community with focus on Agriculture, Health and Education, Language Technology Applications such as Machine Translation, Cross–Lingual Information Access, Speech Technology, Professional Electronics Technologies like Microcontroller and DSP, Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics Applications based on Biometrics, Malware Analysis, Bio-Informatics Applications including Cancer Research using Artificial Intelligence etc. The primary activity of C-DAC is research and development in specific areas of Information and Communication Technology and Electronics (ICTE). Therefore, C-DAC’s Technology Roadmap is comprehensive in covering the aspects pertaining to Core Research, Research & Development, Applications and Services with Mission Mode Programmes namely Exascale Computing, Microprocessor & Professional Electronics, Quantum Computing, IoE, Dependable and Secure Computing. C-DAC’s vision is to enhance and synergize technical efficacies for the betterment and ease of life of citizens and position India at a premium space on the global map. Cyber awareness begins with understanding, questioning and making responsible choices online.

The Cyber Hygiene Model United Nations (CH-MUN) brought together students from 16 schools for meaningful discussions and deliberations on , cyber hygiene, digital safety and responsible online behaviour hosted by St. Karen’s High School, Patna, under the ISEA SSOIndia initiative, with the support of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing : C-DAC Patna and Hyderabad centres.

Through debates, and problem solving, students explored real world cyber challenges while strengthening critical thinking, communication and decision making skills.

The initiative reflects the importance of empowering young minds with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.

What if technology could make every yoga practice more informed and personalised?

C-DAC has launched Aasanan, an AI enabled Yoga and Cognitive Wellness application developed in collaboration with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

The application uses based posture analysis to identify 33 three dimensional body landmarks per frame, providing real time, joint level feedback to support accurate asana practice

Aasanan also brings together guided Hasta Mudras, personalised feedback and session analytics, supporting practices associated with concentration and memory while helping users track their progress

Aqua SURAKSHA: Ensuring Safe Water for All

Pesticide contamination in water bodies poses a growing threat to aquatic ecosystems, fisheries, livelihoods and food security. Conventional laboratory testing, while accurate, can be time-consuming, expensive and difficult to deploy in the field.

In the upcoming podcast, we explore Aqua SURAKSHA, a portable technology developed by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing : C-DAC Kolkata in collaboration with ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute - Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, under a Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India funded project, for rapid field-level detection of organophosphate pesticide contamination in water.

30 professionals, 23 countries and two weeks of learning without borders

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing : C-DAC successfully concluded the Specialised Programme on Machine Learning-I under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation - ITEC Programme of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, bringing together professionals from across the world for an immersive learning experience.

The programme brought together participants from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kingdom of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Laos, Lebanon, Mauritius, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Zimbabwe.
