ABIC, SKUAST-J ABI FOUNDATION has successfully conducted its 15th RIC meeting on 25.03.2026 to evaluate 10th batch incubatees of ABI Centre, SKUAST-J ABI FOUNDATION for recommending their cases to the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, GoI for grant-in-aid support. The incubatees were evaluated on their innovative agribusiness ideas and products along-with their scalability and market scope.
In addition, certificates were also distributed to incubatees of 10th batch for successful completion of their one month agri-entrepreneurship training programmes conducted using a blend of online & offline modes.
Proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, Director, SKUAST-J ABIF, Dr. Yamini Raut & Mr. Tarunjeet Singh. The meeting marked another milestone in ABIC’s mission to nurture innovative agripreneurs and strengthen India’s agri-startup ecosystem.

📍 Onsite Due Diligence & Monitoring Visit at Nature’s Urja Pvt. Ltd., Shimla (HP)
The designated Due Diligence Committee of SKUAST-J ABI FOUNDATION, comprising Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, Director, SKUAST-J ABI FOUNDATION, and Sh. Annil Suri, RIC Member & MD, A.B. Industries, Jammu, conducted an onsite evaluation of the manufacturing set-up of one of our incubated start-ups — M/s Nature’s Urja Pvt. Ltd., founded by Dr. Divya Vishambra, at Rohru, Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) on 18.11.2025.

🌱 During the visit, the committee assessed:
✔️ Utilization of the first installment of grant-in-aid
✔️ Milestone achievements
✔️ Infrastructure development
✔️ Commercial operations
✔️ Plants & machineries, raw materials, finished goods
✔️ Relevant documentations & records

🔍 The team thoroughly inspected the facility and provided valuable suggestions and strategic directions to help the start-up strengthen and scale up its operations. The team was also provided hands-on-training on branding of innovative agri-products for better market visibility and fetch premium prices.

Krishi Branding Centre, SKUAST-Jammu Advances Agripreneurship through Strategic Training on Sustainable RBSH Models under HADP
Furthering its commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem and empowering rural communities across Jammu and Kashmir, the Krishi Branding Centre (KBC), SKUAST-J ABI Foundation, successfully conducted a three-day training programme on “Strategic Tools & Planning Methodologies for Ensuring the Success and Sustainability of RBSH Models via Farmer Engagement” from 12th to 14th November 2025. The programme was organized under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), Project No. 4 – Strengthening Agricultural Marketing in the UT of J&K.
The training was held under the visionary leadership of Prof. B. N. Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, and the dynamic guidance of Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, Principal Investigator (Project No. 4) and Director, SKUAST-J ABI Foundation.
The initiative featured enriching sessions delivered by experts from premier national institutions including NABARD, ICAR, AGMARK and the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection.These sessions provided practical insights into business incubation, value chain integration, certification protocols, and sustainable agribusiness strategies. Participants also visited SKUAST-Jammu’s Seed Processing Unit and Farming System Research Centre, where they gained firsthand exposure to enterprise operations, post-harvest management and product diversification.
A key highlight of the programme was the signing of three Memorandum of Agreement (MoAs) between the Krishi Branding Centre and participating agripreneurs. These agreements aim to extend support in branding, packaging development, certification preparedness, and establishing market linkages—an important step toward developing market-ready agri-brands under HADP.
The Krishi Branding Centre, SKUAST-Jammu continues to play a crucial role in promoting agripreneurship, stimulating innovation, and advancing a sustainable agribusiness ecosystem under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme.
