A two-day Awareness & Capacity Building Workshop under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme commenced on 14th July 2026 at the Faculty of Fisheries Science, Assam Veterinary and Fisheries University (AVFU), Raha, Nagaon. The workshop is being organized for beneficiaries from the fisheries sector under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0.

The programme is organized by the Assam Small Industries Development Corporation (ASIDC) Ltd. and implemented by the District Industries & Commerce Centre (DICC), Nagaon, in collaboration with the Faculty of Fisheries Science, AVFU, Raha.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Ankita Bora, ACS, Co-District Commissioner, Raha, as the Chief Guest, in the presence of the General Manager, DICC, Nagaon, the Dean, Faculty of Fisheries Science, AVFU, and other distinguished dignitaries.

During the programme, Dr. Bora interacted with local fish farmers and listened to their inspiring journeys—from starting on a small scale to building sustainable livelihoods. She appreciated their dedication and encouraged them to make the best use of government schemes and capacity-building initiatives to further strengthen the fisheries sector and contribute to rural economic development.

The workshop aims to enhance awareness, strengthen entrepreneurial skills, and empower fishery entrepreneurs through knowledge sharing and capacity building, paving the way for sustainable growth in the MSME sector.

জিলাখনৰ পৰ্যটন ক্ষেত্ৰখনক অধিক আকৰ্ষণীয় ৰূপত গঢ়ি তোলাৰ লগতে তিৱা জনগোষ্ঠীৰ ঐতিহাসিক বীৰ জোঙাল বলহুৰ অমৰ স্মৃতি যুগমীয়া কৰাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে অসমৰ মাননীয় মুখ্যমন্ত্ৰী ড° হিমন্ত বিশ্ব শৰ্মা ডাঙৰীয়াৰ দূৰদৰ্শী নেতৃত্বত ৰহাত ‘জোঙাল বলহু পৰ্যটন ক্ষেত্ৰ’ নিৰ্মাণৰ এক অভিলাষী আঁচনি গ্ৰহণ কৰা হৈছে।

প্ৰায় ৫০ কোটি টকা ব্যয়সাপেক্ষে নিৰ্মাণ কাৰ্য চলি থকা এই ঐতিহাসিক তথা পৰ্যটনস্থলীখন ৩ জুলাই ২০২৬ তাৰিখে, অসম চৰকাৰৰ পৰ্যটন, মহিলা আৰু শিশু বিকাশ বিভাগৰ মাননীয় মন্ত্ৰী শ্ৰীমতী অজন্তা নেওগ ডাঙৰীয়ানীয়ে পৰিদৰ্শন কৰে। মন্ত্ৰী ডাঙৰীয়ানীয়ে ক্ষেত্ৰখনত উপস্থিত হৈ চলি থকা সামগ্ৰিক আন্তঃগাঁথনি উন্নয়নমূলক কাম-কাজৰ অগ্ৰগতিৰ এক বিশদ বুজ লয়।

জোঙাল বলহু ক্ষেত্ৰক ৰাজ্যৰ ভিতৰতে এক অন্যতম শ্ৰেষ্ঠ আৰু আকৰ্ষণীয় পৰ্যটন কেন্দ্ৰ হিচাপে গঢ়ি তুলিবলৈ ইয়াত কেনেধৰণৰ পৰম্পৰাগত, সাংস্কৃতিক তথা জনগোষ্ঠীয় বিষয়বস্তু সংযোজন কৰিব পৰা যায়— সেই সন্দৰ্ভত মন্ত্ৰী ডাঙৰীয়ানীয়ে থলীতে এক পৰ্যালোচনা কৰে। নিৰ্মীয়মাণ প্ৰতিটো প্ৰকল্পৰ গুণগত মান অক্ষুণ্ণ ৰাখি কামসমূহ নিৰ্ধাৰিত সময়ৰ ভিতৰত সুচাৰুৰূপে সম্পন্ন কৰিবলৈ তেখেতে সংশ্লিষ্ট কৰ্তৃপক্ষ আৰু বিভাগীয় অভিযন্তাসকলক বিশেষ নিৰ্দেশনা প্ৰদান কৰে।

A special enforcement drive was conducted at Hariahmukh, Raha, to ensure compliance with the Assam Fishery Rules. During the operation, 30 gill nets and 1 Chinese trap were seized.

Approximately 10 kg of live fish found in different hapas were released back into the river, while the remaining fish were auctioned for Rs. 1,200/- as per the prescribed procedure.

The drive was carried out with the active support and participation of SDRF personnel and the Raha Police Force.

The inauguration of the Fish Farm, which is now being jointly managed by the Fisheries Department and Sankar Madhab Development Society, Raha, was held in the presence of Dr. Ankita Bora, ACS, Co-District Commissioner, Raha; Smt. Banti Hazarika, Chairperson, Raha Municipal Board; the District Fishery Development Officer, Nagaon; and other officers and officials.

The initiative marks an important step towards promoting sustainable fisheries development, livelihood generation, and community participation in the Raha Co-District.

Successful Conduct of Jana Kalyan Shivir in Raha Co-District

The Jana Kalyan Shivir was successfully conducted in Raha and Pakhimoria Blocks under Raha Co-District from 18th June to 20th June, 2026.

The three-day camp witnessed active participation from various government departments, public representatives, and beneficiaries. Citizens were provided with information on government welfare schemes, assistance in availing benefits, grievance redressal services, and on-the-spot facilitation of various public services.

The initiative aimed at ensuring the saturation of welfare schemes and bringing government services closer to the people, reflecting the commitment towards inclusive development and citizen-centric governance.
