Mainly situated beside NH-31 accompanied by Railway that's why very easy transportation is available. This village has a population of around 12000. Places to visit are Digambar Jain Mandir, a church,lakes, and High school. Major portion of population is directly or indirectly associated with agriculture for living.It is also a hub of vegetable export, tons of fresh vegetable are exported daily.There are two cold stores for the storage of vegetables,of of them is very huge. Weather is affected by its proximity to Darjeeling. In summer, Maximum temperature is approx. 40°C and during Winter it goes down to 4°C. The village has one high school (kanki Shree jain Vidya Mandir), two nationalised bank, two Mosques, one digambar Jain mandir.
