Continuing its efforts to curb illegal smuggling of bovine animals, Rajouri Police foiled two separate attempts of illegal bovine transportation in Thanamandi and Kalakote areas, rescuing a total of 22 bovine animals and seizing the vehicles involved.

*In the first incident* Police Party of Police Station Thanamandi intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14C-1618 at Vikas Bridge Naka Thanamandi while it was coming from the Rajouri. During checking the vehicle was found loaded with 20 bovine animals. The vehicle was being driven by *Sheraz Ahmed S/o Haibullah R/o Behrote.* The animals were being transported without valid permission.

*In another incident* Police Party of Police Station Kalakote while conducting patrolling duty in the Panjnara area noticed an electric auto-rickshaw bearing registration number JK11J-9852 travelling towards Rajouri. On noticing the police party the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. During checking two bovine animals were found loaded inside the auto-rickshaw also being transported without valid permission.

In connection with these incidents, FIR No. 126/2026 at Police Station Thanamandi and FIR No. 43/2026 at Police Station Kalakote have been registered under relevant sections of law. The seized vehicles and rescued bovine animals have been dealt with as per prescribed legal procedure, while further investigation in both cases is underway.

Rajouri Police reiterates its commitment to preventing illegal transportation of bovine animals and taking strict legal action against persons involved in such activities.

*Rajouri Police Intensify Crackdown on Illegal ; Machinery and Tippers Seized from Dharhali River*

Continuing its crackdown against illegal , Rajouri Police during night checking seized one Poclain machine, one JCB and two tippers from the Dharhali which were being used for illegal mining.

The seized machinery and vehicles have been identified as follows:

1. One JCB, Owned by Mohd Ishtiyak S/O Mohd Mushtaq residents of Atti Fatehpur Rajouri.
2. One Poclain, Owned by Shafiq Ahmed resident of Salani Rajouri.
3. Tipper No JK11D-5392, Owned by Gulzar Ahmed resident of Atti.
4. Tipper No. JK02BX 2286, Being driven by Abdul Rashid resident of Choudhary Naar.

Legal action has been initiated against the violators under the relevant provisions of law.

Rajouri Police reiterated that strict action will be taken against persons found involved in illegal and of minor minerals and enforcement against such activities will continue across the district.

In a significant action against drug trafficking Thanamandi Police achieved a major success during routine patrolling and naka checking.

During naka checking two persons (1) *Bilal Ahmed S/o Naseer Ahmed R/o Raina Mohalla Thanamandi and (2) *Nadeem Ahmed S/o Ahmed Joo R/o Old Thanamandi* were intercepted and subjected to checking. During their personal search 2015 Pregabalin Capsules,15 Tramadol Capsules, one Tramadol Injection and 3.47 grams of He**in were recovered from their possession.

Both accused persons were arrested on the spot and the recovered contraband was seized as per procedure. In this regard a Case FIR No 121/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Thanamandi and further investigation has been taken up.

Police Station Sunderbani has taken strict action against *Bittu Kumar S/o Puran Singh R/o Ghai Panasa Tehsil Beri Pattan District Rajouri* for his alleged involvement in the illegal transportation and sale of desi liquor.

During verification the accused was found violating the provisions of the Excise Act following which Case FIR No. 61/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

Rajouri Police has reiterated its commitment to curbing the illegal trade and transportation of liquor and ensuring strict enforcement of the law.

*Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Sh Naresh Singh JKPS* today chaired an interaction with the Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) of the 2019 and 2024 batches presently posted in District Rajouri.

Additional Superintendents of Police and other senior police officers attended the interaction. During the meeting *SSP Rajouri emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, dedication and professionalism in policing.* He stressed that police personnel must maintain the highest standards of honesty, professional conduct and accountability while discharging their official duties.

SSP Rajouri called upon the PSIs to uphold the dignity of the police uniform and remain committed to serving the public with sincerity sensitivity and a strong sense of responsibility. He further emphasized the need for accessible, fair, transparent and accountable policing to strengthen public confidence in the police force.

The SSP cautioned that any instance of misconduct, negligence or compromise with professional and ethical standards would invite strict departmental action.

In view of the upcoming festival and as part of its proactive security arrangements Rajouri Police conducted extensive area domination, patrolling and security checks across Rajouri Town to ensure the safety and security of the public.

The exercise was carried out under the supervision of *DIGP RP Range and SSP Rajouri* who along with other senior police officers and personnel actively participated in the area domination and patrolling. Police teams covered sensitive and vulnerable locations, market areas and other important points as part of the security exercise. Continuing its sustained drive against the illegal trafficking of narcotic substances, Rajouri Police today apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 1.111 kg of Ganja-like narcotic substance from his possession in Sunderbani.

*SSP Rajouri, Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS*, while sharing the details, said that a naka party of ITI Sunderbani, headed by the IC Naka Incharge and operating under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, intercepted a person carrying a black bag during routine checking. Upon conducting a search, 1 kg 111 grams of Ganja-like narcotic substance was recovered from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Rohan Kumar S/o Raj Kumar, R/o Ward No. 05, Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri.

In this connection, FIR No. 60/2026 U/S 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani, and further investigation has been initiated.

Acting swiftly on information regarding persons stranded in the Jamola River in the Bhadoon area team of Rajouri Police along with SDRF Rajouri launched a rescue operation after the water level in the river rose suddenly.

During the operation 10 persons including 06 children who had become stranded in the river were safely rescued by the joint team. All the rescued persons were evacuated to a safer location. The prompt and coordinated response by Rajouri Police and SDRF ensured the safety of all those stranded.

Rajouri Police appeals to the general public to exercise extreme caution near rivers and water bodies, particularly during sudden rises in water levels and to avoid venturing into such areas during adverse weather conditions.

*Rajouri Police Apprehends Drug Peddler; He**in-Like Narcotic Substance was Recovered In Darhal*

Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and illicit narcotics, Darhal Police apprehended a suspected drug peddler during naka checking at Iqbal Gate Darhal.

During naka duty the police party noticed a person approaching on foot from Link Road Jabar towards Darhal. On noticing the police party he attempted to turn back and flee from the spot. Acting swiftly the police party apprehended him on suspicion. During questioning he identified himself as:

1. *Mushtafiz-ul-Rehman S/o Mohd. Naseer R/o Thanamang, Tehsil Darhal.*

During his personal search 6.30 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance was recovered from his possession.In this connection a Case FIR No 63/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Darhal and investigation has been initiated.

Darhal Police reiterates its commitment to taking strict legal action against persons involved in drug trafficking and to safeguarding the youth and society from the menace of drugs.
