As per Railway Board guidelines, Health Books will be phased out and all employees/pensioners will be given UMIDs (Unique Medical Identity Cards). With this treatment can be availed across all the railway hospitals/ health units in India. It has many other advantages too. To start this scheme, all employees/officers have to register in the UMID portal and initiate their applications. Detailed guidelines are given in the letter above. It is requested to ensure all staff are completing the procedure as advised in above letter by 15-6-2019 so as to enable Personnel department to undertake further processes. Please forward it to maximum staff so as to reach everyone. In case of any assistance, employee has to contact his concerned welfare inspector.
