In continuation process of IYRP celebration another event organised in Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir by Indian Pastoralists Communities Network IPCN and Highland Pastrolists Alliance among Gujjar Bakerwal Pastoralist community.
Moreover members of IPCN met with most important resource person Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary from Gujjar Bakerwal Community 2009 batch IAS officer posted as Commissioner/Secretary J&K govt. department of Science and Technology who is playing key role in making launch/celebration a grand success.
During discussion many important aspects highlighted for future discourse in IYRP celebration.

Indian Pastoralists Communities Network (IPCN) Launched/Celebrated International year of Rangelands and Pastoralists IYRP,2026 in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh today among Gujjar and Gaddi Pastoralist community.
Gujjar and Gaddi Pastoralist community welcomed IYRP as they said our rights get recognised through UN declaration of IYRP, 2026.

Minutes of Today's Meeting
The program was jointly moderated by Bhavna and Amir Hamza.
Participants: Shamshad and Rafi, Karamat from Uttarakhand; Rafi Baniya from Uttar Pradesh; Surmuddin from Punjab; Tariq from Jammu and Kashmir; Regina from Himachal; Vagtaram from Rajasthan; Prafull from Maharashtra.
Bhavna requested women from IPCN to participate in the proposed program in Gujarat. Prafull, Vagtaram, and Surmuddin presented their work in their respective states. Tariq discussed organization building and progress. Karamat shared that he is working on the history and education of the Van Gujjars. Rafi Dinda shared that he is working on Van Gujjar costumes and the Forest Rights Act. Concluding the program, Bhavna presented a detailed presentation of the Gujarat program. During the group discussion, a strategy was also formulated for IYRP2026, in which it was also decided that we will send letters to local elected representatives. This will be the main work of this Maha. Today's meeting was concluded by thanking everyone.

Indian Pastoralist Communities Network IPCN chaired a meeting in Thandla Tehsil MP with many Pastoralist and discussed various challenges and prospects of Pastoralism.
Main speaker in this event was Bhavana Desai and Nita Ben from Gujarat and Vagta Ram from Rajasthan.
Speaker of this event also highlighted the major points to be considered in IYRP 2026.

Field visit during 2nd national IPCN meeting in Rajasthan where our members attended Gram Saba with Adivasi Community in Bijapur Pali district.
IPCN members highlighted various important issues and Problems of Pastoralist and Adivasi People's including Forest Right Act 2006, Forest and Biodiversity Conservation and various other concerns and talked about policy advocacy.
