The Centre brings out several publications including its journal ‘The IIC Quarterly’, which are valued for their high intellectual content.India Post is happy to join the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of this intellectual haven by issuing a Commemorative Postage Stamp, the design of which has tried to capture the essence of the Centre.this stamp issued on 9 Feb 2012.

WILED LIFE "Ksamaya dharitri", exhorts a line from a Sanskrit Shloka, demanding the Man learn the patience and the forgiveness of the Earth. The forbearance of the earth is nowhere beter seen than in the support she gives to wild life threatened by man's irreverent disregard for the gifts of nature. His wanton and thoughtless destruction of wild life habitant is endangering many spices. The Department of Posts fels privileged to draw the attention of the masses to the urgent need for conservation.The stamp is of wild life depicting the White Tiger is designed by India Security Press, Nashik Road. The first day cover shows the white tigers, photographed by Thakur Dalip Singh. The cancellation is designed by Smt. Alka Sharma.This Stamp issued on 29th nov 1987.

Shyama Shastri, eldest of the “Trinity” of Carnatic Music.Shyama Shastri’s compositions are original and have a style of their own. They are in slow tempo and the Raga (melody type) delineated in a few clear phrases full of Raga Bhava. He has composed both in well known and rare Ragas but he chose Ragas whose form is depicted more by Sancharas (movements) and gamakas (graces) than by the bare notes. He was also a master of Laya (Rhythm) and we find unusual inversion of beats in some of his compositions in Misrachapu Tala. It is said that he had won musical contests by his command over laya. Swarajati which was basically a dance form was developed by him into a beautiful musical form fit for concerts.
His compositions are in praise of Goddess Kamakshi and Minakshi and are in Sanskrit, Telugu and Tamil. This stamp is issued on 21 Dec 1985

Godiji temple is situated in the Payadhuni / Pydhonie area of Mumbai . Unique indeed is the greatness of this Jain temple that is 199 years old and considered to be the best in the Jain temples in Mumbai. The idol of Bhagavan Parshvanath of renowned greatness is miraculous. Devotees in thousands have experience of the miracles. The first flag (Dhwaj) of the temple was installed by Shri Motishah Sheth, the best amongst those who are leaders of the Jain religious order. His contribution towards the construction of this temple was very much vital as his presence was for Jain Religion. The idol of Shri Godiji Parshvanath Bhagavan is a major source of attraction. Initially the temple was made of wood. It has been renovated recently with marble.The Stamp released on17.04.2012.

Butanding (Rhincodon typus)is a whale shark with scientific name (Rhincodon typus). It is a slow moving and largest specie of fish in the world which is also a filter feeding shark. It can live for about 70 year and can grow up to 12.2 meters and weigh up to 13.6 tons.
