A delegation led by Hon’ble Minister, Shri Sudivya Kumar, visited Karnataka to study successful models of tourism property management, operations and sustainable tourism development.
The Jharkhand delegation included Shri Mukesh Kumar, Secretary, Department of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Sports & Youth Affairs; Shri Naman Priyesh Lakra, IAS, Director, Tourism and Shri Prem Ranjan, Managing Director, Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation (JTDC).
During the visit, the delegation held discussions with Karnataka’s Forest Minister Shri Eshwar Khandre, Tourism Minister Shri K. J. George, the Tourism Secretary and senior officials of Jungle Lodges & Resorts (JLR) and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation.
The delegation studied JLR’s approach to managing tourism properties and resorts, with a focus on operations, maintenance, human resource management, procurement practices and institutional coordination.
Discussions also explored the possibility of engaging Jungle Lodges & Resorts as a Knowledge Partner for Jharkhand’s tourism properties, along with developing a structured roadmap and potential MoU for future collaboration.
The study visit marks an important step towards adopting proven practices, strengthening tourism asset management and creating sustainable, professionally managed and visitor-focused tourism experiences across Jharkhand.
