Today, a group of farmers from Dumka district visited the EAAI Centre, Ranchi.

During the visit, we demonstrated various sustainable and energy-efficient technologies, including an improved chulha, biochar kiln, screw-press type briquetting machine, and gasifier.

The farmers showed great enthusiasm and curiosity during the demonstration of these technologies. They were excited to see the practical applications and expressed satisfaction after understanding their potential benefits for rural livelihoods and sustainable energy use.

Utilizing agricultural and biomass waste such as saw dust, wood dust, rice husk, gobar (cow dung), and other bio-waste has now become very easy with the CIAE Make Screw Press Type Briquetting Machine.

By using this machine, farmers and entrepreneurs can convert waste materials into valuable briquettes in large quantities. This not only helps in reducing agricultural waste but also creates an additional source of income.

The process of briquette making is simple and efficient:

Collection of raw materials such as saw dust, wood dust, rice husk, gobar, etc.

Mixing the raw materials in a definite proportion with a suitable binder (if required).

Feeding the mixed material into the hopper of the machine.

The material is compressed by a 3.7 HP motor-driven screw press to form briquettes.

The briquettes are then sun-dried.

After drying, the briquettes are ready to be used as fuel or sold in the market.

This technology is a sustainable solution for waste management and income generation. It supports clean energy production while promoting environmental protection.

Demonstration of renewable energy technologies such as improved chulha and awareness on different biomass briquette-making techniques were conducted among farmers on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, the great freedom fighter of Jharkhand.

🌾 As we all know, the rice–wheat cropping system is one of the most common cropping patterns in Jharkhand.

📊 To understand the energy involvement in different farm operations, a detailed survey was conducted across various villages of Ranchi district under the rice–wheat cropping system.

🔍 Based on the survey findings, the most energy-intensive operations in the rice–wheat cropping system were identified and further evaluated under the AICRP on Energy in Agriculture and Allied Industries (EAAI).
