gy (NIH) and Irrigation Research Institute (IRI) are also located. Established in 1956 as Kanhaiya Lal Technical Institute , it intially offered only certificate course.In 1963 it was upgraded as K.L.Polytechnic and three years diploma course in discilpines of Civil Engg., Mechanical Engg., Electrical Engg., were started. The admissions to all courses are made through an Entrance Examination (JEEP) conduted by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education. The environment in the institution is highly academic, which is evident from the very encouraging results of the student in the Board Examination.
