Courtesy Visit to Honourable Minister Shri. Arun Upreti Sir under the coordination and guidance from Shri.Urgen Namchomu Urgen Lepcha Sir CA to HCM 19-Rhenock.

The Honourable Minister Shri. Arun Upreti, Cooperation Department and Rural Development Department Govt. Of Sikkim received a courtesy visit from Smt. Sancha Maya Tamang, Councillor 05- Dikling Chalamthang Ward, Pakyong Municipality, and the team.

During the conversation, Smt. Sancha Maya Tamang , Councillor, expressed her gratitude towards Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Party and it's Executives for believing in her work and providing her with a responsibility and opportunity to work for the welfare of people and society.

Honourable Minister Shri.Arun Upreti Sir, shared about the difficulties, suffering, and happiness he went through when our Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Party was being formed during the engagement session.

Furthermore , Honourable Minister Shri Arun Upreti Sir shared an inspirational speech as;

"A person should always be humble with self and others, there should never be any sentiments of discrimination among selves,". We ought to pay attention, comprehend, and make an effort to speak up for them.

The interactive session ended with blessings and compliments for Smt. Sancha Maya Tamang and the Team.

Honourable Minister Shri.Arun Upreti Sir also urged the team to work together to achieve Honourable Chief Minister Shri.Prem Singh Tamang Sir's vision for the prosperity of people and society.

I congratulate all the candidates from Sikkim Krantikari Morcha who have been nominated for the upcoming urban local body elections.

At the same time, it is worth recalling that it was the SKM itself that once opposed the idea of party-based elections in local self-governance, a stand that many, including myself, appreciated.

During the last panchayat elections, conducted by the present government without party tickets, a large number of young people were able to participate. Many of them not only contested but also won, and have since been doing commendable work for the people of the state.

Reverting now to party-based nominations feels like a departure from the core principles the party once stood for. This move will limit opportunities for independent and young voices.

Gangtok, April 15:
The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has convened an important review meeting in preparation for the forthcoming visit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

According to an official notice issued by the party headquarters, the meeting is scheduled to be held on April 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Mannan Kendra, Gangtok. The meeting aims to review and coordinate arrangements related to the Prime Minister’s visit, which holds significant importance for the state.

The notice, issued by Pawan Gurung, General Secretary (HQ/Admin), SKM, states that the meeting will be attended by a wide spectrum of party leaders and functionaries. These include all Hon’ble Ministers, MLAs, Advisors to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Political Secretaries, Chairpersons, Board Executives, and representatives from various party frontal organizations.

Additionally, members of District Executive Committees, Youth Wing, Nari Wing, CLC Presidents, departmental officials, and representatives from organizations such as SHGs, ASHA, AWG, Sarathi, YES Foundation, Ex-Servicemen groups, LOVISM, and LYDC have also been requested to participate.

The party has urged all concerned members to ensure their presence and extend full cooperation to ensure the successful planning and ex*****on of the Prime Minister’s visit.

The meeting is expected to play a crucial role in streamlining preparations and ensuring seamless coordination among all stakeholders ahead of the high-profile visit.

Live Updates : SKM Party Celebrates ULB Election Victory in 26-Arithang Constituency

A grand victory celebration cm joining program was organised by the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party of 26-Arithang Constituency held at Deorali, Gangtok.

The event was graced by Hon'ble Area MLA cm Minister Shri. Arun Upreti, who was accompanied by his spouse and other party functionaries. The atmosphere was electric as supporters and party workers came together to celebrate the party's triumph in the ULB general election.

Shri. Lakpa Moktan and other dignitaries also joined in to mark the occasion. The event showcased the party's strength and unity in the constituency.
