National Atlas & Thematic Mapping Organisation, formed in the year 1956, is a specialized institution of its kind in the world. This organisation is engaged in the field of thematic cartography and geographical research in India and has grown into a robust organisation making substantial contribution towards the nation’s effort for socio-economic revival. It is a subordinate office of the Departme

nt of Science & Technology, under the Government of India and is the sole authority for showcasing the national framework data in the form of thematic maps and atlases. NATMO has also pioneered in the field of mapping of Braille Atlas for the visually impaired. In this project, maps and atlases are prepared using the technology of Braille. With the help of modern technology NATMO has travelled a long way in establishing itself as a pioneering scientific institute in the area of geo-spatial technologies in the world.
