E-Malkhana at Senapati Police Station

On 30.05.2026, the Malkhana of Senapati Police Station has been upgraded and converted into an E-Malkhana system under the initiative of Shri Zaib Shaikh, IPS SP/Senapati and Probationer Shivin, IPS (OC Senapati PS).

Under the new system which ensures scientific storage, proper management, and easy retrieval of case properties and exhibits, each exhibit/property is assigned a unique barcode containing details such as FIR number, sections of law, Investigating Officer, description of exhibits, photographs, status, and disposal details. The same barcode is also linked with the concerned case record, enabling quick identification and retrieval of exhibits whenever required.

The E-Malkhana system promotes systematic documentation, accountability, transparency, and better preservation of case properties through digital record management.

The initiative has significantly improved the efficiency of Malkhana management and is a step towards modernization and adoption of scientific practices in police station administration.

During the process of sorting, verification, and digitization for the E-Malkhana project, 16 cases were identified for pre-trial disposal. Necessary court orders have been obtained, and the disposal is scheduled to be carried out on 26th June on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The contraband identified for disposal includes 1982.68 kg of g***a, 1.276 gram of he**in powder, 15 packets of ice drug weighing 900 grams each, and 9475 WY tablets.

Drugs seized, peddlers held

On 07/05/2026 at around 7:00 PM, based on reliable input, combined teams of SDPO-SPT, OC-SPT, SOT (Special Operation Team) of Senapati Police, one team of Senapati WPS, one team of 16 AR and D-78 Bn CRPF under the overall supervision of SP Senapati intercepted one Bolero vehicle bearing Regn. No. NL07C- 5762 at T Khullen Naka Check point. On enquiry, the driver of the vehicle was identified as K. Dovile (42) s/o A Kapane of Laii Village, Senapati District, Manipur. On search of the vehicle in presence of the Executive Magistrate, 99 soap cases of brown sugar were recovered from the radiator of the Bolero. He stated that the drugs and the vehicle belong to one Nemneilhing Haokip of Saikul Bazaar Touthang Veng, Kangpokpi District, Manipur. On his further revelation, Nemneilhing Haokip and her husband viz., Henkhomang Haokip who came in Swift car bearing Regn. No. AS04E-3344 were intercepted at T Khullen when they were coming to exchange the vehicle. The 3 (three) persons were arrested on the spot. On further examination of the accused persons, they revealed one person viz., Mrs. Chinkhokim (53) d/o Thangkhomang Haokip, S. Molcham village, presently residing at Kipmunnom village, CCPur was also arrested.

They are:
1. Mr. K. Dovile (42) s/o A. Kapane of Laii Village, P.O – Tadubi, P.S – Tungjoy, Senapati District, Manipur – 795104.
2. Mrs. Nemneilhing Haokip (42) w/o Henkhomang Haokip of Saikul Bazar, Kangpokpi District and
3. Mr. Henkhomang Haokip (47) s/o Henthang Haokip Saikul Bazar, Kangpokpi District, Manipur - 795118.
4. Mrs. Chinkhokim (53) d/o Thangkhomang Haokip, S. Molcham village, Ccpur.

Recovered items:
1. 99 (Ninety-nine) soap cases of suspected brown sugar weighing 1.140 kgs.
2. Two vehicles: Bolero (white colour) bearing Regn. No. NL07C- 5762 and Swift (silver colour) bearing Regn. No. AS04E- 3344 along with keys of the Vehicles.
3. 4 mobile phones
4. Rs. 30,300/- (Thirty thousand and three hundred) in cash.

A case has been registered at Senapati PS under relevant sections of ND & PS Act. They were produced before the Court and were remanded to 7 days police custody.

Man convicted of sexual assault on minor

On 7th May, 2026, Special Judge (POCSO), Senapati has convicted the accused of aggravated penetrative sexual assault on a minor. Mr. K. Besii has been charged with sexually assaulting then 7 year old minor girl who was reading in Class II when the incident happened. A complaint was filed at Senapati Women PS on 16.03.2022 by a member of Child Line Senapati following which he was arrested on the same day. The IO of the case submitted the chargesheet on time and was registered by the Court on 31.03.2026 and the trial started on 25.02.2026. The final verdict came on 7th May 2026 and the accused was convicted of aggravated penetrative sexual assault after the prosecution proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.

Senapati District Police has received Hon’ble Governor’s Unit Citation

Senapati District Police has received Governor Manipur Unit Citation during the Investiture Ceremony for the Governor's Unit Citation-2026 held at MSFDS, Imphal on 6th May 2026. The citation is given to Senapati District Police for demonstrating exemplary performance in maintaining law and order, counter insurgency operations, recovery of arms/ammunitions, seizure of illicit drugs/poppy destruction and case disposal. "I congratulate all ranks of the District Manipur Police for their high order of achievement, devotion to duty and setting an example for others" the citation from Hon'ble Governor cited. SP of Senapati Shri Zaib Zakir, IPS received the citation from the Hon'ble Governor of Manipur.

Drug seized, peddler held

Today, i.e., 01.05.2026, a team of Special Operation team SOT-Senapati, Maram PS, B/109 CRPF and 16AR under the supervision of SP Senapati conducted a random frisking and checking on NH-2 at Kabinam under Maram PS, Senapati.

One Scorpio black in colour bearing rgd. NL07CD 7347 was was stopped for checking and on thorough checking, 40 soap cases of suspected he**in was found concealed at the back of rear seat of the vehicle.

The driver was identified as Mr. Manglenthang Tuboi (25) s/o Thangjalun Tuboi of Saikul bazar, KPI district.

Particulars of seized items
1. One Scorpio b/no. NL07CD7347.
2. One mobile Poco M2pro with SIM.
3. 40 soap cases of suspected he**in.

Hence, regular case is registered under MRM-PS for further investigation.

One man arrested with illegal fi****ms

On 30/04/2026 at around 11:50 am based on reliable source information regarding illegal possession of narcotic substances from one S Chakho (33) s/o Sani of Makhan Centre Village, Senapati, a joint team of 16 Assam Rifles led by Major Saransh Roy and SDPO-SPT under the overall supervision of SP-Senapati detained the said person.

A search of his residence at Broadway, Senapati was conducted in accordance with law. While no contraband drugs were recovered during the search, one foreign-made pistol was found in his possession inside the house. Upon enquiry, the accused failed to produce any valid license for the firearm, thereby attracting provisions of the Arms Act, 1959.

While examination of the accused’s mobile phone and analysis of WhatsApp chats, call records revealed his involvement in abetment and criminal conspiracy relating to illegal drug trade. The digital evidence indicated communication with multiple persons regarding purchase and sale of narcotic substances. The accused voluntarily admitted that he had been engaged in peddling drugs to local addicts, thereby attracting applicable provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 for abetment and criminal conspiracy in relation to narcotic drugs.

The detained person was formally arrested by observing formalities at 3:30 pm.

1. One 7.65 mm Pistol marked as Made in Japan with one magazine
2. Two (2) nos. of 7.65 mm live round ammunition.
3. One Redmi Note 14 5G Mobile with SIM Nos. 6009253135 and 8730003879. IMEI Nos. 865541072333229 and 865541072333237
4. Aadhaar Card of the accused.

A case has been registered at Senapati PS under relevant sections for investigation.

Drugs seized, peddlers arrested

Today i.e., 09/04/2026 at around 9:30 am, while conducting a random frisking and checking at T Khullen Naka Checkpoint by SOT (Special Operation team) Senapati Police along with D-78 CRPF, B/109 QAT CRPF and E-Coy 16 AR Hengbung post two individuals identified as Satyendra Nath (38) s/o Mukunda Nath of Rambahadur Para Dasda, P.O - Dasda, P.S – Kanchanpur, Dharmanagar District, North Tripura - 799271 and Sudip Paul (42) s/o Subhash Paul of Ward No. 1 Pekuchhara, P.O & P.S – Panisagar, Dharmanagar District, North Tripura - 799260 were arrested on possession of suspected WY Tablets (Amphetamine). Also the following items were seized from their possession.

Particulars of the seized items:
1. 1.220 kg of suspected WY Tablet including plastic cover.
2. One vehicle I20 Red in colour bearing Reg. No. AS01DN-3717 along with key and RC book of the vehicle.
3. 4(four) mobile phones, one Aadhaar card and 1 (One) driving license. A case has been registered at Senapati PS for investigation.

Drugs seized, peddler arrested

On 23rd March 2026, at around 2:30 AM, the QAT of Mao PS, A/109 Bn CRPF and B Coy 16AR, while conducting random frisking and checking at the Mao checkpoint, a white A-Star Maruti Suzuki bearing no. HR05AG9844 coming from the Senapati towards Nagaland was stopped for checking. During the checking, 15 soap cases of suspected brown sugar were found concealed behind both the front seat bag.

The driver, identified as Firoz (35), s/o Md. Kamaruddin from Yairipok Tulihal Mayai Leikai, Imphal East was arrested by observing formalities.

The following items were seized from him:

1. 15 soap cases suspected to be brown sugar weighing 174 gms including the weight of the plastic packets.

2. Brown wallet containing Rs. 5000/-

3. Aadhaar card, ATM card, and driving licence, all in his name.

A case has been registered at Mao PS for investigation.

Prime accused of truck arson arrested by Senapati Police

Senapati, March 14: In connection with the truck arson case at Kabinam village, Senapati along NH-2 on 2 March 2026, one key accused, Ramayo Vashum (51), s/o Sathphang Vashum, was arrested last night (13.03.2026).

Credible technical inputs were developed by a team led by OC SPT Shivin, IPS (P). Acting on the inputs, two teams led by SDPO SPT and SOT conducted a raid at the hideout of the accused at Kathiko Karong, Senapati, from where the accused was apprehended.

During the arrest, two mobile phones, suspected to have been used for coordination of the offence, were seized.

Following interrogation of the arrested person, the vehicle used to reach the arson site was also traced and recovered. The movement of the vehicle has been corroborated with CCTV footage near the scene of crime.

Details of items seized:

1. One Gypsy bearing Registration No. MN08 A0099.

2. One Vivo Y200 mobile phone

3. One Kechaoda K66 keypad mobile phone.

Efforts are ongoing to arrest the other accused involved in the crime.
