भारतीय मानवविज्ञान सर्वेक्षण – शिलांग मे दो दिवसीय तीसरे तिमाही में कार्यशाला का आयोजन दिनांक 27/11/2024 और 28/11/2024 को किया गया। प्रथम दिन में श्रीमति असित कमल , वरिष्ठ हिन्दी अधिकारी, नराकास, शिलांग मुख्य अतिथि के तौर पर उपस्थित रही। उन्होने कार्यालय मे हिन्दी के कामकाज को बढ़ाने के लिए जरूरी सुझाव दिया। दूसरे दिन कार्यालय मे हिन्दी से संबन्धित शब्द गठन का अनुशीलन कराया गया।

On 30.10.24, North East Regional centre of Anthropological survey of India arranged a premier of documentary film, Centenary Passage, Man in India (1921 - 2020) directed by Dr Nabakumar Duary. Dr Duary is working Assistant Anthropologist (c) at NERC and has published numerous research papers and articles. The documentary film depicts the 100 years journey of the reputed anthropology journal 'Man In India'.

भारतीय मानवविज्ञान सर्वेक्षण, उत्तर पूर्व क्षेत्रीय केंद्र, शिलांग में हिंदी पखवाड़ा दिनांक 14 /09 /2024 से 30/09/2024 तक मनाया गया। हिंदी पखवाड़ा 2024 का समापन समारोह 30/09/2024 को किया गया, जिसमे श्री वकील अहमद जी (हिंदी शिक्षक एवं वरिष्ठ अधिकारी एन.सी.सी) मुख्य अतिथि रहे, समापन समारोह में प्रश्नोत्तरी प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया जिसमे कार्यालय के सभी अधिकारी और कर्मचारियों ने बढ़चढ़ कर हिस्सा लिया । तत्पश्चात 14 /09 /2024 से 30/09/2024 तक हुई सभी प्रतियोगिताओ का मूल्यांकन और पुरस्कार वितरण श्री वकील अहमद जी के द्वारा किया गया।

भारतीय मानवविज्ञान सर्वेक्षण, उत्तर-पूर्व क्षेत्रीय केंद्र, शिलांग में दिनांक 14 सितंबर 2024 को हिंदी पखवाड़ा का शुभारंभ किया गया. इस श्रृंखला में दिनांक 17 सितंबर 2024 को तात्कालिक भाषण प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया । इस मुदित अवसर पर श्री विभाष धर (सेवानिवृत्त अधीक्षक मानवविज्ञानी) ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में राजभाषा हिंदी से जुड़े इतिहास के बारे में अथवा कार्यालय में प्रशासनिक एवं वैज्ञानिक कार्यों में हिंदी राजभाषा के उपयोग के बारे में इस क्षेत्रीय केंद्र के कर्मचारियों के साथ अपने विचार साझा किए सभी कर्मचारियों ने बड़ी प्रेम से इस तात्कालिक भाषण प्रतियोगिता का आनंद लिया ।

On September 5, 24, Swami Anuragananda, Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission, Cherrapunjee visited AnSI NERC Shillong. Dr Santanu Mitra, Head of Office of NERC Shillong, offered him a formal welcome. During the visit, Swami Anuragananda signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Anthropological Survey of India for the museum in Cherrapunjee. He also shared his valuable insights on contribution of the R K Mission with the staff of this regional centre.

Anthropological Survey of India, North East Regional Centre celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga on the 21st June, 2024 following this year theme “Yoga for self and society” with an aim to raise and create self awareness and self acceptance which can boost confidence and self esteem in women and empower them to pursue their goal and aspirations. The programme started in the office garden under the leadership of Dr. Koel Mukherjee,A(P), Head of Office, An.SI, NERC, Shillong.The programme was followed by a speech from Shri. R.K.Satrajit Singh, SSA, An.SI,NERC, Shillong over the benefits of practicing in daily life. The programme was ended up by taking a pledge from all the staff members to take out time for practicing yoga sessions in everyday life for a proper health and fitness lifestyle.

Anthropological Survey of India, North East Regional Centre, Shillong organized Swachh Bharat Programme under Swachhta Action Plan on the 14th June 2024 in the office premises. Due to the heavy rainfall during monsoon in Shillong, weeding of the surrounding office area was essentially required therefore, the clearing drive was conducted by all staff member enthusiastically to give a message of cleaner and greener earth. The dedication and commitment of all the participants have been significant in making the program a success.

An.SI, NERC, Shillong celebrated the World Environment Day, 2024 on 5th of June 2024 on the theme “Land restoration, desertification, and draught resilience” where Mr. W.R Kharkrang, Senior Environmental Engineer, Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, Shillong and Dr. Bibhash Dhar, Retd. Superintendent Anthropologist and former Head of Office, Anthropological Survey of India, North East Regional Centre, Shillong attended the programme as Chief Guest. The programme started with the lighting of lamp which was followed by a lecture and presentation on the topic “Land restoration, desertification, and draught resilience” by Mr. W.R Kharkrang. There was also an enlightening presentation from Dr. Bibhash Dhar, Retd. Superintendent Anthropologist and former Head of Office, An.SI, NERC, Shillong on the topic “Anthropological Perspective on World Environment Day, 2024”. The programme ended with an insightful documentary by Dr. Nabakumar Duary, Assistant Anthropologist (Cultural), on the Raha community of Madhya Pradesh.

To mark the celebration of International Museum Day, 2024, the Academic Committee of An.SI, NERC, Shillong organized a programme in the Conference Hall of NERC, Shillong along with a discussion on the Draft Report of Physical Anthropology Division of An.SI, NERC, Shillong entitled “Assessment of Health, Hygiene and Sanitation Status of the Khasi in North East India, with Special Reference to Women and Children” on the 20th May, 2024 to all scientific staff NERC, Shillong from 2:00 p.m onwards.
The resource persons of the programme were Dr. Peacefully Kharkongor and Dr. Asui Nsangrangbe from the Department of Anthropology, Women’s College, Shillong. The programme was started with a welcome address from Dr. Koel Mukherjee, A (P) and HO, NERC, Shillong. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Nabakumar Duary , AA(C).

भारतीय मानवविज्ञान सर्वेक्षण , उत्तर पूर्व क्षेत्रीय केन्द्र, शिलांग में दिनांक 14.05.2024 को हिंदीकार्यशाला का वितीय वर्ष 2024 -25 की पहली तिमाही का आयोजन किया गया। इस कार्यशाला में कार्यालय का सभी कर्मचारियों एवम् अधिकारियों ने भाग लिया l इस कार्यशाला में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में प्रधान महालेखाकर, शिलांग के वरिष्ठ अनुवादक श्री अशोक कुमार जी थे l श्रीमती रोमा दास, मानवविज्ञानी (सं) ने स्वागत भाषण दिया इस के बाद डॉ कोयल मुखर्जी, कार्यालय अध्य्क्ष ने व्याख्यान किया और फिर श्री अशोक कुमार जी ने कार्यक्रम के बारे में चर्चा करते हुए उन्होंने कंठस्थ 2.0 (एक स्मृति आधारित अनुवादक सॉफ़्टवेयर जिसे राजभाषा विभाग द्वारा विकासित किया गया था) पर प्रशिक्षण दिया। उस के बाद अंत में श्रीमती रेखा देवी लोहार जी आशुलीपिक ने सभी को धन्यवाद देकर कार्यक्रम का समापन किया।

Anthropological Survey of India, North East Regional Centre, Shillong is delighted to convey that Dr. Pinuma Baruah, AA (P) has been promoted as Anthropologist (Physical Anthropology) and transferred to Anthropological Survey of India, Western Regional Centre, Udaipur. For this reason, on 9th May, 2024 all staff members of An.SI, Shillong assembled together and expressed their gratitude for her contribution during her time towards the growth of this Regional Centre since 1996 in both academic and administrative section.

An.SI, Shillong is grateful to Dr. Pinuma Baruah for all the good times and memories that was shared together and wishes her nothing but peace, love, happiness and success in her new role.

On 1st May, 2024, An.SI, NERC, Shillong organized an online SPSS training to all the scientific staff of this Regional Centre. The programme was hosted by Shri. Indranil Biswas, AA (C) which was then followed by a welcome address from Dr. Koel Mukherjee, A (P) and HO NERC, Shillong.
The resource person of the programme was Shri. Manoranjan Pal, Retd. Professor, Economic Research Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata as a Chief Guest where he explained about the use of SPSS for analyzing quantitative data whereas, Dr. Premananda Bharati, Retd. Professor, Biological Anthropology Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata also attended the programme as a Special Guest. All the Scientific staff members participated in the said training programme enthusiastically and in a befitting manner.
