Tri Hills Ensemble, happing on the 14th and 15th of October will highlight Art & Craft villages pan Meghalaya.
As a way to celebrate the culture of Meghalaya, 6 Art & Craft villages have been identified that have continued to practise various age-old art and craft for generations.
The 6 villages are:
Amindagare, the living wood museum in Garo Hills. Tangmang, the home to the finest craftsmanship. Wakhen, the Heritage Music Village in East Khasi Hills. Larnai in Jaintia hills, the home of Black Clay pottery. Mairang, the Art District & Pahambir, in Ri-Bihoi the abode of folklore.
The Department of Arts & Culture, Meghalaya hope that this recognition will spur global interest while retaining the local spirit enabling economic stability through art & crafts.

The Meghalaya State Emblem was unveiled on the 21st of January at the Meghalaya Golden Jubilee Celebration. The Emblem highlights the state’s intrinsic deep rootedness in nature & the inherent cultural connectedness of its 3 main indigenous hill tribes – the Khasis, Garos & Jaintias, who are culturally distinct, yet inextricably bound by the matrilineal social structure.
