18 CLFs in Nongstoin Receive Free Business Support from Shubham Charitable with Social Welfare Dept Support

*Shubham Charitable & Welfare Association*, with support from the *Meghalaya Department of Social Welfare*, organized a program at Nongstoin C&RD Block Office on May 6.

Under the *zero-investment, zero-risk business model*, product resources were distributed free of cost to *18 CLFs* for income generation. The *Department of Social Welfare* assured support for linking CLF women to Anganwadi networks and providing market linkages.

BDO Shri Evanmi Lyngdoh, CDPO, BPM Shidalin Sangriang, and block officials of the Social Welfare Department were present on the occasion.

Shubham Charitable expressed gratitude to the Social Welfare Department and stated that with government support, this model will be extended to all blocks of West Khasi Hills District.

Awareness Programme Conducted at Jongksha C&RD Block, Mawkynrew

An awareness programme was successfully conducted today at Jongksha C&RD Block under Mawkynrew, organised by Shubham Charitable & Welfare Association in collaboration with Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society, Operation Clean Up, and Martin Luther Christian University.
The programme focused on creating awareness among Cluster Level Federations (CLFs), strengthening grassroots engagement, and introducing practical livelihood opportunities. The session saw active participation from CLF members and local stakeholders, reflecting strong community involvement.
As part of the initiative, two CLF leaders were each provided with two cartons containing 60 boxes each, aimed at helping them kickstart product-based income activities. Alongside the distribution, hands-on guidance was given on how to market the products effectively, with a focus on a zero-risk business approach, enabling the leaders to generate income without financial burden.
The event was attended by key officials who continue to play an important role in supporting community-level institutions. Special acknowledgement was extended to Iaikhmih, CC In-charge; Miskorda, CC; Andrea, CC; Aihun, Block Accountant; and Jenita, Block MIS, for their dedication and support.
The programme also served as a platform for knowledge-sharing and collaboration, encouraging CLFs to adopt sustainable and scalable livelihood practices within their communities.
The organisers expressed their gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting CLFs through awareness, training, and on-ground engagement.

Successful Inauguration of JUTE RESOURCE CUM PRODUCTION CENTRE (JRCPC) Scheme by Shubham Charitable Association
Shillong, 27th January 2026 – The Shubham Charitable Association proudly inaugurated its Jute Resource cm Production Centre (JRCPC) today, marking a significant step in promoting livelihood opportunities and sustainable jute utilization. The event was a highly impactful and inspirational program, reflecting the organization’s commitment to community development and skill enhancement.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Ms. Pushpa Bajaj, President of Shubham Charitable Association, with Ms. Silky Bajaj serving as the Project Head. Key senior members included Saroj Jalan, Asha Mewara, and Kanta Agarwal, while the program was meticulously monitored by Project Monitoring Head, Ms. Mamini Dutta. The training sessions were conducted by Trainer Mr. Sushant Ghosh. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mrs. Anita Basumtari, Block Coordinator of Udalguri, who applauded the initiative and its potential for rural employment.
During the program, 20 participants received detailed training on the applications of jute in various industries and its growing demand in international markets, emphasizing the role of jute-based enterprises in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. The session covered both production techniques and market strategies, equipping participants with knowledge to explore jute as a viable economic resource.
The JRCPC Scheme aims to empower rural communities, particularly women, by providing hands-on training in jute resource management, production, and marketing. This initiative aligns with Shubham Charitable Association’s ongoing mission to promote skill development, sustainable livelihoods, and rural entrepreneurship.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a strong commitment to continue such training programs, fostering economic independence and skill enhancement among participants.
