The Meghalaya Early Childhood Development Mission (MECDM) is an integrated mission centered on enhancing children's holistic growth in the state. It prioritizes motor and cognitive skills, socio-emotional development, health, nutrition, and early education. By focusing on these aspects, MECDM aspires to empower Meghalaya's children for optimal development during the critical early years of Birth u

p to 8 years of age and for pregnant and nursing mothers. This mission adopts an integrated strategy to seize 'missing opportunities,' investing time, money, and resources in children, expanding their future choices. Successful implementation of the Mission is anticipated to boost life expectancy and developmental outcomes, involving community participation and departmental collaboration of departments, namely; Department of Social Welfare, Department of Health, Department of Community and Rural Development (State Rural Employment Society and Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society) and Department of Education.
