The programme was successfully organized by BJYM Meghalaya under the leadership of State Vice President Dr. Bernadet Lyndoh, in the presence of State President Mr. Mewanker Lyndoh, State Vice President Shri Wankit Pohshna, and the entire Yuva Morcha team. The event was held on 25th June 2026 at Shillong College, with the support and encouragement of the faculty members.

The programme served as an important platform for young minds to engage in meaningful discussions and debates on governance, democracy, and the role of both the ruling and opposition sides. Participants reflected on one of the most significant and controversial chapters in India's history—the Emergency period, which remains a stark reminder of the suppression of democratic values, civil liberties, and the fundamental rights of citizens.

This historic event continues to remind us and future generations of the importance of safeguarding democracy, protecting human rights, and upholding the constitutional values of our great nation.

Today, under the leadership of Smt. Matilda Shadap, Mahila Morcha District President, Jaintia Hills, a special awareness programme was organized to promote healthy cooking practices with minimal use of oil. Demonstrations of nutritious, low-oil recipes were conducted, and members were invited to taste the prepared dishes so that they could better understand and share the benefits of healthy eating within their respective localities and villages.

The programme focused on creating awareness about reducing excessive oil consumption, which can significantly help in preventing various lifestyle-related diseases and improving overall health and well-being. Special emphasis was placed on the role of women, as they are the primary caregivers and decision-makers in household nutrition and meal preparation.
