A One Day Workshop on Incubator and District Level Marketing Federation was held today the 24th of July, 2026 in collaboration with IIM Shillong Foundation for Incubation & Enterprises (IIMSFIE) along with ICCO.

The core tenet of the Workshop is to:

(a) design and operate business incubation support for SHG-based enterprises, and
(b) establish District Level Marketing Federations that professionalise supply-chain management and market
aggregation for rural producers. Every technical session is designed to close with a concrete, reusable output rather than passive briefing.

The inauguration programme of the LSC under Rongram Block was organised with the participation of block-level officials, representatives of the Cluster Level Federation (CLF), SHG leaders and community members. The event formally opened the centre for use by farmers and SHG members, symbolising a dedicated local platform for accessing farming-related services, information and equipment. During the programme, dignitaries addressed the gathering on the objectives of MKSP and the role of the Livelihood Service Centre in strengthening integrated farming clusters and women farmers’ capacities. The inauguration also included distribution of agricultural inputs and tools (such as livestock feeds and small agricultural implements) to SHG and federation members, demonstrating the centre’s function as a hub for farm resources and technical support.
Function was attended by Agriculture Development Officer, Officer Incharge Jengjal Police Outpost, District representatives and Block Functionaries

Vocational Training on Poultry

SMMU-MSRLS conducted a two-day Natural Farming programme in West Garo Hills. Day 1 featured field visits to Natural Farming villages under Dalu C&RD Block, providing firsthand exposure to sustainable agricultural practices. Day 2 concluded with a debriefing session involving Garo Region DMMUs, ECRP teams, SMMU, and APCNF, in the presence of Shri Sampath Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, and the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, to review progress and strengthen the Natural Farming initiative across the region.

Input distribution & Awareness under the Program - Khet Bachao Abhiyan program and equipment given ICAR- IARI,New Delhi under NEH program in collaboration with ICAR- KVK,West Garo Hills and MSRLS, Tura for the Lead NF Farmer and Potential Lakhpati Didi. Total of following items were distributed:
1. Wheel hand how( weeder)-26 nos.
2. Pre- terminated paddy seeder- 3nos.
3. Paddle paddy thresher-10nos.
4. Winnower-1no.
5. Vegetable seed kits.
