India takes a transformative leap towards a smarter and more integrated public health ecosystem with the launch of the Swasth Bharat Portal — a unified digital platform designed to connect fragmented health systems and streamline healthcare delivery across the nation.

Launched by Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda during the 10th National Summit on Innovation and Inclusivity: Best Practices Shaping India’s Health Future, the portal marks a major milestone in India’s digital health transformation journey.

The Swasth Bharat Portal will serve as a one-stop aggregator platform integrating multiple national health programme systems through API-based interoperability, reducing repetitive data entry, eliminating multiple logins, and easing the administrative burden on frontline healthcare workers including ASHAs, ANMs, CHOs, and Medical Officers.

Aligned with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), the portal supports ABHA integration for secure and seamless health data exchange, paving the way for a robust and interoperable digital health ecosystem. The platform is also envisioned to integrate with national registries such as the Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR) and Health Facility Registry (HFR).

Key projected efficiency gains include:
✔️ 20–30% reduction in infrastructure load
✔️ 20–40% reduction in repetitive data entry
✔️ 20–40% reduction in HR duplication
✔️ Faster and data-driven decision-making

The Swasth Bharat Portal represents a significant step towards convergence, efficiency, innovation, and evidence-based governance in India’s public health system — empowering healthcare providers and strengthening service delivery for millions.

Strengthening our commitment to maternal and newborn health

A Training on Stillbirth Surveillance and Response was successfully organized by the Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, East Jaiñtia Hills, bringing together Medical Officers and healthcare providers from across the district.

The session focused on building capacity to better understand, report, and respond to stillbirths through a systematic and evidence-based approach.

By enhancing skills in surveillance and response, this initiative aims to improve the quality of care, ensure timely interventions, and ultimately reduce preventable losses.

The active participation and dedication of all attendees reflect a shared commitment to safeguarding every pregnancy and every life.

Together, we move closer to a future where no loss goes unnoticed and every mother and child receives the care they deserve.

Your body is always speaking—through fatigue, mood, skin, and energy levels. The real question is: are we listening?

In the rush of daily life, we often ignore the subtle (and not-so-subtle) signals our body sends us. From exhaustion and poor nutrition to stress and lack of movement, every sign is a message asking for care, balance, and attention.

Take a moment to pause and reflect:
• Are you getting enough rest?
• Are you fueling your body right?
• Are you giving your mind a break?
• Are you moving enough?

Small changes can make a big difference. Prioritize your well-being—not just today, but every day.

Which one hit home for you? Share in the comments below.

Garo Version of "Salt can Kill"

Salt may seem harmless on your plate, but too much of it can quietly harm your body. Excess salt intake is a major risk factor for high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke—often without any warning signs.

Cutting down on salt today can protect your heart tomorrow. Choose fresh foods, read labels, and make healthier choices for a longer, stronger life.

In response to the recent measles outbreak alert, the Pamra Kmai Village Health Committee (VHC) team, led by Mr. Wellson Siangshai, Secretary Shnong Pamra Kmai, stepped forward with dedication and care to protect the community.

The team conducted home visits to families who had previously refused routine vaccinations for their children, recognizing that these children are at a higher risk of contracting the disease.

Through meaningful conversations and patient engagement, the VHC team highlighted the importance of vaccination in building strong immunity and preventing serious illnesses. Their efforts helped address concerns and clear misconceptions, fostering trust within the community.

Encouragingly, the families came forward with a positive response, understanding the benefits and agreeing to continue regular immunization for the health and well-being of their children.

This collective effort reflects the power of community leadership and awareness in safeguarding public health. Your health is in your hands. Healthy children make a healthy and wealthy future.

Let us come together to achieve 100% vaccination in our village.

On this International Workers' Day, MHSSP reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding the dignity, safety, and well-being of every worker engaged in its construction activities. These dedicated workers are the backbone of our progress, tirelessly building the health centres that serve communities across the State.

Worker protection remains a priority, with the consistent provision and use of appropriate protective gear, strict enforcement of a zero-tolerance policy against child labour across all sites, and regular health screenings to ensure their overall well-being. In addition, dedicated sessions on SEA/SH are conducted to raise awareness and create a safe and respectful environment for both workers and the surrounding community.

This Labour Day, we extend our heartfelt tribute to our grassroots workers—the true nation builders—whose hard work, resilience, and dedication continue to drive progress and strengthen our communities.
