The Asian Development Bank (ADB) fielded a Loan Review Mission Team and currently reviewing the implementation of Climate Adaptative Community-Based Water-Harvesting Project in Meghalaya, implemented by the Meghalaya State Watershed and Wasteland Development Agency (MSWWDA) under the Soil and Water Conservation Department, Government of Meghalaya.
During the sessions held on 23rd and 24th July, Dr. Joram Beda, IAS; Commissioner & Secretary, Soil and Water Conservation Department, along with Shri L. Shabong, Director Soil & Water Conservation Department, alongside officials from ADB and the State Project Management Unit, reviewed the progress of project implementation, including procurement, contract awards and disbursements, contract management, Phase-II civil works, community-led initiatives on catchment Area Treatment and Command Area Development, and project management information systems. The discussions also focused on strengthening implementation mechanisms like staffing, technical support mechanisms besides identifying key actions to ensure the timely and effective achievement of the Project deliverables.
The Mission, being held from 22nd to 27th July 2026, aims to support the successful implementation of the Project and advance climate-resilient water resource management across Meghalaya.
