Born in Darbhanga, Bihar, OC Raghvendra Jha is a living example of dedication, resilience and selfless service. Inspired by the proud military legacy of his grandfather, father and uncle, he nurtured his dream of serving the Nation from an early age.

An accomplished NCC cadet and regional level sportsman, he began his professional journey as a Java Developer before answering a higher calling by joining the CRPF as a Sub-Inspector in 2023. His distinguished service in Naxal affected areas of Odisha and insurgency environment of Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir, earned him the prestigious DG CRPF Commendation Card in 2025. During his tenure in CRPF, he also represented the force in various sports events and won several accolades in volleyball competitions.

Serving in CRPF was a vital stepping stone in his journey of serving the Nation. His early days in NCC sparked a deep rooted passion to wear the Olive Greens and his service in CRPF further reinforced that drive. The invaluable operational experience gained, motivated him to appear for the SSB, which he successfully cleared to realise his lifelong dream of joining the .

At OTA, Gaya, he captained the academy volleyball team with distinction and excelled across multiple team sports, exemplifying integrity, sportsmanship and camaraderie. He firmly believes that "Service Before Self" is not merely a motto, but a way of life.

Born in Kerala, Officer Cadet Athira Suresh is a gifted student who cleared one of the most competitive examinations in the country, the IIT-JEE, and graduated as a civil engineer from NIT Calicut. Yet her heart remained devoted to a greater purpose of following in the footsteps of her father (Naik Suresh from the Corps of Signals) to serve the Nation.

Despite holding a stable corporate job at global giant ExxonMobil, she tested her resolve by appearing for the Services Selection Board and cleared it in her very first attempt.

The Academy tested her physically, mentally and
emotionally, but her unwavering resolve transformed every challenge into an opportunity for growth.

Today, as a proud cadet of OTA, Gaya, she embodies determination, resilience and compassionate leadership, inspiring others to believe that true success lies in pursuing one's calling with courage, perseverance and selfless service.

Hailing from Cuttack, Odisha and raised in a family of educators, Senior Under Officer Syed Abu Hurera became the first in his family to pursue the passion of serving as an Army Officer.

A B.Tech graduate in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, he is a national-level footballer and state-level athlete. He earned his recommendation in his first attempt at 14 SSB Allahabad. His journey at OTA, Gaya was severely tested when, during training, he sustained a severe ankle injury that led to medical relegation in his first term. He fought with pain and patience, endured and returned stronger to restart training with unwavering determination. He excelled in physical training by earning a Merit Card and also won a Gold Medal in Athletics.

His journey proves that true warriors are defined not by the obstacles they face, but by the courage with which they endure, rise and ultimately triumph with a Never-Say-Die attitude.

Subedar Majors/Equivalent and Potential Subedar Majors from the , , , and SFF trained together, reinforcing Inter-Service understanding and mission-oriented leadership.

Brig Gaurav Kapoor, Commandant, Junior Leaders Academy, addressed the participants and felicitated the award winners. Risaldar Major Vijay Shanker of Armoured Corps was adjudged the Overall Best Student.

Convocation Ceremony of Graduate Entry Equipment Orientation Course conducted at Military College of Telecommunication Engineering was held on 02 Sep 2026.

The ceremony was presided over by Lt Gen Vivek Dogra, SM, Signal Officer-in-Chief & Colonel Commandant, Corps of Signals, who congratulated the course officers on their sustained hard work and outstanding performance.

Capt Neha Sharma was adjudged first in order of merit for the course.

For Officer Cadet Prashant Gurung, the journey to the olive-green uniform was more than a career aspiration. It was a legacy woven into his upbringing. Raised amidst military discipline and surrounded by stories of courage and sacrifice, the path to the felt less like a choice and more like a calling.

His family's association with the Indian Army traces its roots to the proud tradition of Gorkha recruitment from Nepal, a legacy built on honour, loyalty and valour. His maternal grandfather, Honorary Captain Bhagat Bahadur (Retd) of 6/5 Gorkha Rifles, served with distinction and left behind a rich legacy through his service, operational experience and medals that stood as symbols of dedication to the Nation.

Further strengthening this aspiration was the example set by his father, Havildar Bimal Gurung (Retd), who served for twenty-four years in 4/5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force). His father's unwavering integrity, discipline and commitment to service instilled in him the values that would later define his own journey.

A decisive influence came from a close family friend and mentor, Lt Col Raja Gurung, an alumnus of OTA Chennai and an Officer of 4/5 GR (FF), whose military accomplishments and professional journey motivated him to pursue the same path. An interaction with the late General Bipin Rawat during his school days at Cambrian Hall, Dehradun, transformed his dream into a clear and determined goal.

The road was not easy. Prashant earned his recommendation at the SSB with his focus, dedication and determination, proving that perseverance and self-improvement triumph over adversity.

Today, OC Prashant Gurung carries forward a proud Gorkha legacy of courage, resilience, loyalty and unwavering service to the Nation.

Born in the breathtaking valley of Zanskar in Ladakh, amidst towering mountains and harsh winters, Officer Cadet (Women) Stanzin Tsangyang grew up learning endurance and perseverance from an early age. As the youngest child in her family, she was the little girl everyone watched grow, nurtured by the warmth of her family and the strength of her homeland.

In pursuit of quality education and a brighter future, she left the comfort of her home and village at a young age. She completed her schooling at Lamdon Model School, Leh, where she spent nearly fourteen years in a hostel away from her family. Her academic excellence earned her a scholarship for higher studies, following which she pursued Mechanical Engineering at Tezpur University, Assam.

Her journey towards the began during her college years through her association with the NCC, where she first learnt about the various pathways to becoming an Army officer. Coming from a completely civilian background, with no history of military service in her family or community, the dream of wearing the olive-green uniform was unprecedented. Yet, within her grew a strong desire to serve the nation and become the first officer from her family and community to don the uniform.

The road was demanding and filled with challenges, sacrifices and moments of doubt, but the unwavering support of her parents and the resilience instilled by the mountains kept her moving forward.

On 5 September 2026, OC(W) Stanzin Tsangyang will proudly stand on the parade ground as the first woman officer from Kargil district and the first in her generation to wear the uniform, proving that dreams born in the remotest corners of the nation can indeed reach the highest peaks.
