In the ongoing Inter-Division T20 Cricket Tournament organized by Conservator of Forests, Kashmir South Circle, a match was played on 27-04-2026 between Forest Protection Force K04 Pulwama/shopian and Forest Division Anantnag at Nilandrassu, Bijbehara. Forest Protection Force K04 won the match by 6 wickets.

Congratulations to the team on this commendable victory. Zahid Hussain Thoker was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Special appreciation to Gh. Mohammad Bhat, who anchored the innings brilliantly and kept the scoreboard moving with smart strike rotation, timely singles, and quick doubles, making the chase easier for the team.

On the intervening night of 14/15-04-2026, a joint naka was laid by the Forest Protection Force and Forest Territorial staff Shopian at Manzampora, Shopian, following specific information regarding illegal transportation of timber. During naka, a mini tractor bearing Chasis No. VST Shakti MT 270, loaded with illicit timber, was intercepted. The driver was identified as Mashoq Ahmad Wani S/o Ab. Rehman Wani R/o Manzampora, Shopian. The joint party seized the vehicle along with 06 Fir logs measuring 28.37 cfts. The seized timber and vehicle were taken into custody and handed over to the concerned authority for safe custody. An FIR vide No. 54/2026 dated 15-04-2026 stands registered at Police Station Shopian, and further legal proceedings have been initiated.
